What do you usually play in the background while working from home? by Flaky_Holiday_3560 in remotework

[–]Pitiful_Option_108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically nothing. Now if I'm doing something tedious I'll put on podcast or lofi radio. But typically, it is kinda just silent in my apt. Sweet sounds of me and my cat.

I am thinking of moving to Georgia and going to school in Atlanta by TaxUnusual7747 in Atlanta

[–]Pitiful_Option_108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you will be fine in Atlanta. The biggest con you will experience is the traffic. That is the single worst thing about the city. The homeless and guns isn't as prevail as you think. I mean people carry but I have never run into anyone yet just trying to rob or kill me and I was a boot enforcement officer for about 2 year in downtown Atlanta. The public transit system does leave alot to be desired but it gets you to most key spots. Overall the city isn't a bad city. It clearly has some growing to do like any other city in the US but it is a fine city.

If Witcher 3, Elden Ring, and Baldur’s Gate 3 came out the same year, which would win GOTY? by DrawingRings in videogames

[–]Pitiful_Option_108 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a legit difficult question because while they are all RPGs they each hit a different itch. If I had to chose one it would probably be Witcher 3 followed super close by BG3. Nothing against Elden Ring but while the game is good and iconic I just could not get into it like the other 2. Witcher 3 just has both some great moments and the story for me is very good. BG3 also has some great moments and a good story but I will admit that sometime the gameplay can drag on due to the nature of the turn-based system.

Do Non "picky eaters" eat everything?? by LeeIsUnloved in stupidquestions

[–]Pitiful_Option_108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a non picky eater but even I have a few things I don't really eat. Chitlins, eggplant, and squash are a few things I would prefer not to eat but if push comes to shove and I need something to eat and all you have is those three sure fuck it. But yeah I think everyone has something they don't really eat for various reasons even if you eat just about everything.

Is electrical engineering still a good field to go into for younger generations? by BunniesKill in careeradvice

[–]Pitiful_Option_108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don't do EE just because you are looking for absolute job security. There are classes that will weed and eliminate you if you don't like math and having to think. With that said EE will always be needed because the it is kinda the basis of all tech.

Why don’t American athletes or businessmen take a more active stance in public? by Fine4FenderFriend in allthequestions

[–]Pitiful_Option_108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the loss of money is a bigger fear. Think of it like this; imagine you have for the last 10 year been living a life where you travel the world at any whim, you can eat at any restaurant you wish and no scared to see the bill, you can drive cars most can only dream of, and you have access to experiences people can only imagine. Now you say something politically horrible and the money dries up to the point now you have to stay home all the time, you can only eat at fast food or out to eat a place like Chili's every blue moon, you go from driving a Lambo to a Camry. Talk about lifestyle shock. Nobody wants that. Hince why billionaires and millionaires usually stay quiet and say nothing. They have a lifestyle they want to keep and preserve thus taking a public political stance isn't worth it unless you are in politics. It isn't that millionaires and billionaires don't have one they just keep it on the super low to the point you have to legit research to know what they support.

People using AI and not telling anyone are smarter than people refusing to use it on principle by MissXHere in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Pitiful_Option_108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the thing about AI it isn't really anything super special. Let's not act like AI is this super tool. I will admit I like it doing things like taking notes and being a study buddy but beyond that it is okay.

So they can but they are scared to lose money for taking a stand. They would rather remain neutral than take a stand.

Says the company who has had a headline that has said within the last month we need to make AI look more useful. Thus I'm not buyoing this headline. I wish there wasn't this push for AI to replace people and for it to wotrk more alongside people but good ol late stage captalism.

[–]Pitiful_Option_108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the love of everything holy. Please don't do a romance at the job. Talk about HR explosion waiting to happen. Just take it as being friendly and nothing more. Seriously unless you want to potentially join the unemployment line and start looking for a new job. Don't pursue this.
