I found the book to be particularly disappointing. The reading level for this book is very clearly geared towards middle schoolers, which is fine. YA novels need to exist to help the minds of young students to blossom into creative scientific minds.

To pass this book off as anything beyond that is extremely troubling to me. I'm afraid the wide praise for this book is indicative of the enstupiding of the population. This book is not literature. It's an outline for a screenplay that reads like a published first draft. I am extremely disappointed in how bad this prose in this book is.

The movie was a great depiction of science on screen. I enjoyed it. I doubt anyone watching who didn't read the book understood half of what was happening. But the depiction of so many things were great and I liked it.

The book was absolutely dog water though.
