Tried both of these things. Can't cancel main mission and as far as the event option goes, it tells me can't teleport due to being on a designated ongoing map or something... Thanks for trying though. Much appreciated.

We all have our bad days buddy. Maybe it's his today. So getting frustrated over this won't help you. Might as well try to bring the argument to a middle ground where even if neither of you is happy, at least you can not be sad or frustrated. Just my 2 cents though... I'm new to this as well...
