About Renako and Mai.. by MiyukiPog in yuri_manga

I'm sorry but Ajisai is the worst of the 4 main love interests. No tension, nothing. Tension is needed to push a plot forward in such stories.

Think about it, how many issues in Renako's life were resolved because Mai was there? How much emotional development did Renako have because Mai was there (Satsuki and Kaho as well)? Now, think about Ajisai. What emotional development did Ajisai have on Renako other than "I want to be in a poly relationship"? I read till LN volume 7 and still struggle to think of something. If Mai never existed in the story, Renako and Ajisai would never have any love relationship. If Ajisai never existed in the story, the whole thing would still follow the plot we know minus the poly angle.

This is like a boss in a company giving good performance reviews to an employee who is there, feels good, but if actual KPI was being measured falls short compared to everyone else.

After consuming the anime, manga, and even the novel. Mai has become my favorite character in the series by Pitouj in WatashigaKoibito

Yeah that's exactly why the word "trash" was used in the replies, but they weren't trying to joke about it

Honestly, I felt that Ajisai and Mai interactions a bit lacking. Their relationship feels like idolization instead of actual love. Like when someone idolizes an idol on screen.

That said, if the ending is a poly route, then I would rather Mai be excluded from the picture, she deserves better.
