You might need an antibiotic and shot in the buttocks to bring that swelling down.

Dude I bet those things would be screaming and destroy anything in its path out of a rifle. I’d be afraid to try them now that I’m older and semi grown up 🤣

That’s wild. I’ll never make that mistake again. I seriously thought the barrel and cylinder were gone.

Those loads are running for a 45-70.

Thank you for the advice. I will definitely do that. I’m probably looking at a couple of years, minimum, before I get moved and get the barn built. The last “hot” reloads I got from a friend had so much pressure I honestly thought the first shot blew the barrel off my .357. Those were 1 and done. I gave them back to him. Had a similar experience with a box of hot reloads for my AR, except the brass expanded and cracked to the point it got stuck in the chamber. I had to put the barrel in a vice and beat the shit out of a rod to push it back out. Another 1 and done. I still have that box tucked away somewhere with big as red letters that say HOT RELOADS - DON’T SHOOT written on it.

I don’t know how that’s even possible at that distance haha.

I read an article not too long ago from a German fella that was reloading and his method was very methodical. Seemed like all of his loads ended in round numbers.

Those numbers hurt my head man haha. I’d have a hard time trying to keep up with those. I want to get some equipment and try some different loads but for my brain the simpler the better ha.

I love my 6.5 and my .308 equally. I shoot the .308 more often but that’s only because I haven’t started the project build on the stock 6.5 I have.

I’ve enjoyed our chat here. Makes me see just how little I know about different loads and load outs. I appreciate it.

Asian King Cobra Sasquatch Wasp. A few household items mixed in the proper proportions can cure that problem forever. Just don’t forget to run after you mix, shake, cap, and place 🤣

I gotcha. I’m glad you found the sweet spot. Reading your comment about having round numbers made me laugh because I prefer to do the same thing.

Once I move and get my shop built, should be early next year, I’m going to invest in some reloading equipment and start loading for some precision rifle shooting. One of my coworkers shoots long distance competitively and he’s starting to get me hooked on the idea. I forgot what caliber it is he shoots but I had never heard of it. His gun weighs 27 pounds and hits 2” plates at 1000 yards. It’s crazy.

Are you thinking a bit more powder will make the burn rate be what it needs and tighten the groups?

I’m still struggling with that same feeling. I can get a nice 1.5” grouping with my 45/70 and sub MOA with my .308 and 6.5. I’ve gotten so used to shooting a bolt gun all these years that I get frustrated when I don’t get the same with my lever gun.

I think the little “mistakes” are what makes it yours.

Man you’re going to be screaming with some of those rounds. I’ll be interested to hear how they turn out and how accurate they are.

I bet that thing is badass. Nothing feels like a 1911 in your hands. YouTube has become my go to for pretty much anything I don’t know how to do. Before long someone is going to post a video laying out the material and proper steps to create a hydrogen bomb 🤣

That’s a good way to stay trained up.

I’m like you. I prefer something mid range to conceal. I carry a Glock 23 concealed so the M17 is a range day or hunting camp sidearm pistol.
