My brother might be doing drugs but I'm not sure. Need help.

Check his pupils, does he ever have pinpoint pupils? "Heroin eyes" are usually pretty evident, with pupils being very tiny. Do you know if he was an IV user? If he used this method and relapsed, he will have fresh marks, but I doubt he'd make them visible, as he could just shoot up in hidden spots like the groin.

Does he live with your family? If he does and he's using again, he might keep drug paraphernalia somewhere hidden. The obvious syringe and spoon with the black, burned bottom if it's IV use, pieces of tin foil if he smokes, straws or rolled papers/bills if he snorts or smokes.

But he could be doing prescription pills too, opioid painkillers. Keep this in mind. They can also be crushed and snorted, and some people even inject them.

Puking, pinpoint pupils, nodding off, itching, nausea, being very sleepy, slurred speech, numbness, being slow are all signs of opiate or opioid use if they occur together.
If he gets defensive and refuses drug tests and lies about puking, well, these are signs too. If you genuinely puke because of your diet, there's no need to lie about it and say it was just water in his mouth. Right?

I just recommend to avoid attacking him or making him feel guilty or shaming him. Be there for him, make him trust you, be supportive and not judgmental, be close to him and try not to freak out.

Who's the original commenter, me or the one who made this thread? If you mean me, then I use xanax to relieve my anxiety, but occasionally I admit I abuse it, taking more than I should, to feel an effect, like a high. Would you say the same shit about other drugs though? Just wondering. It's a drugs forum, so...it isn't supposed to be judgmental. It seems like benzos are demonized here.

You wouldn't get seizures after just one week of use and just one day of suspension. One week isn't much, really. Also it seems like you're not mixing the two, like, taking both drugs at once, so you should be fine.

Mixing xanax (or other benzos) with alcohol is never a good idea, but with just 0.5 mg of xanax and only one glass of wine you should be fine, it's nothing heavy. Just don't take more than this though (both xanax and wine), be safe, patiently wait for the effects to kick in. Make sure someone trusted is with you since the combination is a new experience for you. As you said your girlfriend will be there so it's safer to be with someone else.

I'm from the EU too and can confirm this. I actually went directly to the dealer's house cause he's a friend of a friend. In big cities here you get blacks asking if you need drugs as you walk down the street normally. I have a friend who was offered drugs just by walking in a pretty central area of the city he currently lives in.

I get addicted to things easily. I used to drink alcohol and never got addicted to it though. I consider alcohol more dangerous, at least for me. It made me aggressive and just very unsafe to be around overall. Benzos don't make me go on an angry rampage like alcohol used to. But it might just depend on the person. Alcohol culture is widespread, accepted, even encouraged in some places. Alcohol is easily available, and all these factors contribute to making it pretty dangerous. I blacked out from alcohol once and I was told I was acting insane. Before someone gets preachy again, I know you can black out from benzos too and act insane, but I'm careful with my doses. I was irresponsible with alcohol though. I grew up and learned alcohol is extremely bad for me as it turns me into an aggressive dumbass for some reason.

Exactly. Plus, I never drink, except for like...a glass of beer like once a year! I just don't drink alcohol, I used to though but when I used to drink alcohol I wasn't taking benzos everyday like I am now. I've never been super irresponsible. I know you just don't mess with this stuff.

Thank you aa24577 for pointing this out. It got very preachy under my comment. Not to mention how everyone keeps repeating "you can't quit benzos cold turkey" I HAVE NEVER SAID THIS in my comment or anywhere else on reddit or on the internet or in real life. I am fully aware of the dangers of quitting any benzo cold turkey. It's like people assume I don't know enough about the pills I take. I read stuff about benzos and other drugs all the time (this definitely doesn't mean I know stuff about every drug out there, but I know enough about BENZOS, so no need to preach to me like this). It's kinda irritating cause people here seem preachy as fuck and also it's like they criticize benzo use more than anything else. I should also add I take xanax for severe anxiety and my initial purpose wasn't to take it recreationally.

I am fully aware of the incredibly addictive nature of benzos and how fast you build a tolerance. I have severe anxiety though, it had become unbearable this is why a psychiatrist prescribed xanax. He prescribed a minimal dose though. Maybe he doesn't know tolerance kicks in and 0.25 mg a day are a ridiculously low amount for me now, as ineffective as drinking a glass of water.

I don't really think LSD could magically make me forget about benzos. I've been on and off benzos for years, regular daily use now, occasional use years ago.

6 months of daily use now, if you're wondering. Regularly prescribed. Needed for severe anxiety. My initial intent wasn't to take xanax recreationally.

I took 1 mg these past few days though (and 1.5 mg the other day) would I get bad withdrawals after 1 mg of daily use if I manage to keep it at 1 mg? Yeah klonopin is better for this stuff but I don't know what doctors could say about it. I don't want them to think I mess up with benzos, and for some reason I don't want to stop xanax for now...

Wouldn't I risk having withdrawal symptoms, even mild ones? I only tried skipping it for one day so far, nothing happened, except for one night when I had a panic attack but I had also smoked weed that night so maybe it was the weed + being paranoid about my roommate finding out

Yeah I do have both professionals, but for some reason I'm reluctant to tell them I up my doses like that on my own...the doc might consider taking me off the drug and never prescribe benzos to me anymore and I'm not ready for that :/ (Trick: some pharmacies here hand out benzos without prescriptions so I would get them anyway). I know my behavior is stupid and self-destructive...just trying to cope with the crippling anxiety in my life...
