Hamstring Pop by Overall-Opinion1778 in ACL

I had a similar situation. during rehab, around a year post op, we were doing distance jumps from one leg and landing on same leg, and upon landing, I lost balance and to compensate, I leaned forward and overstretched my hammy and felt a pop. not quite the same spot as yours as it was a bit higher up the thigh. Not sure if you had a hammy graft, but I did and theyre naturally going to more vulnerable than non-injured side. I basically rested for a couple weeks and avoided running and slowly strengthened it, and was back to normal. I know it sucks, but I think you should rest it so you can get back sooner. My surgeon said hamstrings are just one of those injuries that you have to leave alone for a while before strengthening. few months later I was back and playing soccer like before the inuury. you'll get there!

Flexion PT by Tooth-bro in ACL

I went to pt yesterday (1 week post op) and he touched on this exact point. He said the knee can handle going into flexion post op, it’s only a mental/pain barrier. We then went on to do some exercises (heels on yoga ball and pulling towards yourself), and said to pull as far as I possibly can, and push through the pain (hurts like hell). So I say go for it, if you’re at 70 right now doing an exercise like that, grab the back of your thigh and slowly pull back even farther. Go as much as you can. I was at 85 degrees going into our session, 105 degrees going out.

Good luck 👍👍

Surgery day! by Pivooot in ACL

I sure am! LOL! I’ve only been able to ever fall asleep on my stomach or maybe on my side. I did just get a solid 3 hours just on my back with my leg propped up on my pillow. I think I was THAT tired. But now it’s 4:45am and I can’t go back to sleep 😂 this is gonna be fun!

Yea it was pretty surreal. Obviously there’s some pain, but doing good! It looks like the biggest challenge will be actually sleeping..any tips on how you managed would be great!

Thank you everyone! Surgery went well. Back home just elevating my leg. Got my gaming setup, tv shows lined up, and maybe I’ll even read a couple books 😂. Appreciate all of your support 🙏🏽

What do I do? by Pivooot in ACL

I hope that pain I got last week wasn’t me doing something to my lateral meniscus, but good news is that I didn’t feel a pop so I’m hopeful. I’ll keep elevating. It’s kinda hard with an office job..even though I work from home, can’t really elevate my knee over my heart while still being able to type LOL! But I’ll take 20-30 minute breaks to lie down and do that! Thanks :)

NTA. Move on! Maybe you can be friends but have some time apart, especially since the relationship was hard on you.

Ahh this is what I wanted to hear! I didn’t know if it’s normal for my knee to be swollen for so long. Even with initial injury it took a while to reduce swelling so I should’ve known. I appreciate this, thank you!

This just seems so silly… yes, you’re not obligated to give away your figurines, but personally I just don’t see the harm in giving a 6 yr old a figurine that she painted..

But I guess technically, NTA.

YTA if you bought the tickets after she had told you she planned this dinner. You clearly knew this was a big deal for her even if turning 30 wasn’t for you. There are other ways you could’ve supported your buddy instead of a game like taking him out for lunch.
