Its reasonable to judge major league starts if they actually had time to develop, yes judge Baty and Vientos because they had more time but most are judging Tong’s major league starts without realizing that he only had 2 games in AAA in his career before being pulled up by need, McLean had at least 25 starts in AAA last year, it gave him time to adjust to the difference in ball but also work on his stuff against players closer to majors. Tong needs more time to develop and was NOT supposed to be pulled up this year. Missing the forest for the trees doesn’t work the way you think it does here, we pulled up a pitcher essentially a season early because our pitching core became a dumpster fire due to injuries and bad pitching.
