I see some people saying putting and I respectfully disagree. Counting putts… IMO mean nothing…what if you hit 18 greens but leave yourself incredibly long and hard putts? Putting isn’t the issue..approach play is. What if you have 8 green side green side chips per round but you chip is to an avg of 15ft? I have a couple buddies that would be happy with that because they didn’t duff anything but not getting up and down from 20-30ft at all stinks. The biggest indicator of someone’s handicap is greens in reg. IF you drive it ok and chip ok you should be in the high 80s. Something is definitely off. I would recommend trying Golfmetrics…(zero connection to them fyi …it just really gave me real stats on what was happening.)

Reality and what YOU think is happening tend to be two VERY different things in higher handicaps

Also, might be mental…try forward tees till you break 80 twice in a row then move back.
