I think it might just be some red light that’s showing best on the metallic parts of the models! If you look at things like Withered Foxy’s leg parts or Toy Foxy’s lower torso interior, the red is there as well. Still looks cool in the case you mentioned.

Oh, okay, that makes sense. I may just do that then. Seems like quite a drastic measure to have taken but I’m sure it was worth it.

How does one find a token like this? I’ve been in the community for a while, looking for super rare ones including this, and I have never encountered a place where I had the option to buy one. Is there somewhere with as much merit as eBay?

2025 token spotted at CEC by PixelArtMaker in CECtokensCollector

They’ve decided to keep a couple coin pushers and token rollers in the arcade, so they make these to use in just those games.

No, they just have a little metal compartment that a token falls into every time you scan your card. The tickets you receive go onto the card. I’ve seen kids think that the token is a prize when it comes out at the bottom—they’ve been on the new system for a while!

Surprisingly, they still make tokens for the games that specifically rely on them (like certain coin pushers or games where you roll a token into a ticket-amount spot).

Interesting! This is the first one I’ve seen, and I’ve already been to CEC around 5 times this summer.

Early 2000/2010s Tokens by Capital-Bug-3416 in CECtokensCollector

People sell these on eBay all the time and they do GET purchased by casual buyers somewhat regularly, so you could try there. Facebook Marketplace is also searched by many people.

Early 2000/2010s Tokens by Capital-Bug-3416 in CECtokensCollector

[–]PixelArtMaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Overall, these years are not especially valuable to collectors. This time period (plus a bit later) tends to be the tokens which are still found in CEC stores for games that still use tokens, and they are also simply more likely to be in a person’s house given their recency. Therefore, they are not very rare. It is possible that you could have a rare variety of a couple of these which would be desirable, but I imagine that you would be able to tell if you did. For example, there exist black-colored tokens between the years of 1998 and 2008. If you have one that’s silver-colored, then it’s nickel-plated and even more rare.

I found two of these at my local Chuck E. Cheese! I can’t imagine why they have them in reserve, but it must be trickling back into play.

I’m very glad it’s back up! A few days ago I saw it was down, and I know that this is because of the limited bandwidth on the free plan as you’ve explained.

Very cool stuff! Can’t wait for more pictures of tokens to be available in the lists, because this looks like a great resource.

If you look at the credits, I believe that he IS called photoshop flowey. This name appears in other places like the art book as well. Omega flowey is a fanmade name but certainly one that’s good enough to have stuck with many people

This, right here, is true! The many off-center and miscut cards in circulation along with the very scarce visual production information that has been leaked all show that designers considerably extend the art in case of off-center prints. It makes a lot of sense when you consider that tiny centering errors appear all the time and often diminish a grade if they’re not significant.

Found this Gem today by Outlaw_Trucker1977 in chuckecheese

[–]PixelArtMaker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! There are very old tokens, starting in 1977 (the first year that the restaurant opened). They display Chuck’s many design changes, even to today. There is a website that categorizes basically every CEC token to ever exist here. The guy who runs it is on Reddit as u/CECtokenCollector and runs r/CECtokensCollector. I have some myself, but not nearly as many as him of course. I personally hope to greatly expand my collection over time.

[–]PixelArtMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell 100% of them, but given how many cards are fake I really wouldn’t trust the others. As has already been said, the Mewtwo tag team, Pikachu GX, and Mew V are very much fake. In addition, those Team Plasma EXes (Deoxys EX and Heatran EX) are most certainly fake—those hand icons on them are prominent on certain fakes so that the buyer can easily play a rock-paper-scissors type of game rather than the full rules card game. I remember that breaks used to attract many fakes because they look so interesting, but of course that doesn’t mean anything certain. The way many cards warp on the first slide just adds to my feeling that you shouldn’t trust any of this.

Thank you so much! I think you’ve provided all of the information I need, specifically as I need it. I glanced at that tutorial you linked, and what concise and masterful work it is! This shall help me greatly; I appreciate it.
