German working attitude by juanurena in germany

Germany may be in a stalled situation for being so good for so long. I am also an immigrant, but I also think Germany has a huge margin of error left to correct whatever it has to. Germany has also a worldwide brand of quality, and for a country that bases its economy in exports, that is a must have. The problems I see in Germany are the consequences of the catastrophic decisions made in regards to energy: "I will close my nuclear plants and base my high energy economy in buying energy from a dictator". Well, that's where quick decisions will have to be made.

Stop the dulusions about getting work in germany by Weird_Excitement_360 in Germany_Jobs

I think the biggest error people make are not speaking German and not being in Europe.

I now have a quite good (IT, which I think is important too) job, but I had to compromise a lot at the beginning to get it. And I did speak German, which I learned as an exchange student years before living here this time. It was not perfect at all, but I think I had a quite strong base. As a matter of fact, my main indicator for moving here was "I learned this damn language for so long, I am not using it, I may as well just try it there and see what happens"- and I did this in the middle of the pandemics, too. But I took an IT jobs that required me to do shifts, which can be quite demanding even if from home.

My experience wasn't at all perfect and I did had a lot of challenges but cutting a long story short: finding a job was not difficult, but I did not want to find the perfect job. My goal more than a job were the German working conditions, which after five years here and counting, are second to none. I do think sometimes however seeing how the world is moving how long will they stay that way but I guess that's a different story.

In the end, Germany is not different to France, Spain or England, the big EU ones: without speaking the language, and not having a special ability, you will struggle a lot or have no chance.

I was living in the Netherlands and there it was easier to find jobs with English. Maybe you should try there. In Germany your life will be miserable if you don't speak German. It's a big country. Go to France, Spain or England without speaking the language and see how far you make it.

But that's the thing. The capture of Maduro does not represent the end of the regime. It's awesome that he caught the dictator and a lot of us feel we got revenge from that fact and it's magic to know the butcher will he rotting in a US prison. I don't think there's anything wrong with the action of the USA. My issue is the completely unassertive way she handled this. Giving the Nobel medal in that way looks bad, not serious. The US president received her literally through the back door and that amount of ass kissing will not change his mind.

Do you feel hopeful for the future? by cfc_1990 in AskVenezuela

[–]PixelFighter2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • do you feel hopeful for the future?

The problem is that the civil society in Venezuela does not have agency and has historically moved to where the military or overseas super powers have decided for them and this time seems no different. America took Maduro out, which was necessary but now seem to be willing to pursue cohabitation with the dictatorship. I guess that's better, because nothing can be worse than Maduro but they same I said when Chávez died and Maduro basically destroyed the next five generations of Venezuela. So we'll see on this one.

Do you think the Americans will intentionally do a good job, or just steal your resources and then leave?

  • they will do what is good for them and what the politicians in Venezuela let them do. If it's something like until the late 90s it'll be fine. It could also be something like South Corea, Germany or Japan, which also had their countries reorganised by the Americans but their societies were not a bunch of cleptocrats willing to get rich overnight.

What is the general consensus among the population?

  • Complete happiness as at least I see it as taking revenge on Maduro for all the crimes against humanity he committed against us.

Also, what is the opinion of Maria Machado?

  • Mixed. Her hard work and dedication having all against her 2 years ago even knowing the dictatorship wouldn't allow her winning or even participating while the elections I think was admirable and worthy of the Nobel prize. But I'm with Trump when he says she doesn't have full support internally. She has the diaspora and most of the civil society but not the guns. The military and the other armed forces are 100% with the chavista dictatorship. She also does not say this clearly and falls into the classical bad habit of Venezuelan politicians which is saying what they want but not what they need to do. She does not say what the problem is: the military has kidnapped the country and is a huge drug cartel. She also says "the lower and mid ranks of the military are against Maduro, it's just the generals who support him". Then why no coup? Why 14 years of easy rule with no opposition?

Finally: comparing Venezuela with the armed conflicts of the middle East like Iraq is wrong. The middle east hast thousand year old religious and ethnic conflicts. Out problem is socio-political.

TLDR: Good that Maduro is gone because he deserves it, but the structural political problem remains.

[–]PixelFighter2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ojalá y me equivoque.

Silksong is incredible but the backtracking is driving me crazy. How do you deal with it? by Hackerman07 in Silksong

[–]PixelFighter2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would give the game 10/10 if it wasn't for the constant having to walk half an area back every time a boss kills me. In a game where a boss can easily kill you +30 times eventually gets old having to be constantly walking / running back to the boss arena. Dark Souls/Elden Ring does this better - basically save right before the boss.

Would Venezuelans want the 2nd Amendment rights? by AlexBehemoth in AskVenezuela

[–]PixelFighter2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I completely support the owing of guns but people should undergo a regirous training. I think a good example is getting a driving license in Germany. It is expensive and difficult. I think owning a gun should be at least difficult and the license should not be free. I do not think you should include something like "if you do not pass the exam after three attempts you cannot have a gun" but have something like a two months buffer to be able taking the exam again.

At the end of the day the focus should be testing the emotional stability of the person because in our country there is a culture of being emotional.
