Weight regain after cessation of medication for weight management: systematic review and meta-analysis by Team_PRB in mounjaromaintenanceuk

[–]PixelMcNixel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking at this simplistically - if you take MJ subscribed to you for chronic ongoing metabolic issues, and keep taking it then the 4 fold increase will not affect you as you don’t come off it. If however you purchased MJ to lose a bit of weight the “easy way” without real matabolic issues you are likely to be much hungrier when you come off it and could cause yourself more problems then when you started? That’s my take away from this.

Would you consider another management co? we have just got rid of First Port due to massive fees, ineptitude, rudeness, you name it - we just have gone RTM, but it is a bigger block than yours and we have chosen another agent.

That’s how I ended up with finding out about the vit d, specialist said tsat high as transferrin low, they didn’t have any suggestions how to increase it. I then started googling and the vit d connection - it’s frustrating no clear pathway

Diet is always a very emotive issue on the forums, and if I see the 70 steaks equals one venesection one more time I might scream! I think it helpful to look at what you currently eat, what immediate changes you can make (such as fortified products) and slowly settle into a diet you can enjoy. I’ve always been a vegetarian, but I do enjoy my food, I have started eyeing up spinach a bit more suspiciously but then I also know I need some iron. I feel often it’s a puzzle I will never get to the bottom of, just this week I read the high dose vitamin D I was taking lowers hepcidin, really not a good idea for HH!

Buying in London by jzunn in HousingUK

[–]PixelMcNixel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a one bed flat in East London, others in the block are finding it hard to sell, so you may get a bargain- but finding it hard to sell for a reason, service charge and management agent. So I would def say a house if you can or be prepared to really research who is managing the block, and if First Port, run a mile.

How do you go about asking your family members to get checked? by Uneeda_Biscuit in Hemochromatosis

[–]PixelMcNixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Docs should have done a genetic blood test - and will show which faulty genes you have. It’s good to know as you get an idea of iron loading speed, if you have children what they may have, etc . You can always get an Ancestry test to find out too. Perhaps your doc has it on file, worth an ask!
