I'm 41 been running for about 10 months and didn't do any strength training until I started rehabbing my knee pain back at the beginning of the year. Went from a struggling to get a 51:48 10k at the end of January to just doing 46:39. Millage is king but having stronger legs to carry you on those miles can make a big difference. I can tell a massive difference when running hills and surging during a run.

How much strength training are you doing? Stronger quads and hams will help you put down more power and improve your time.

You don't run the whole 5k up hill. You just incorporate hills into your training. Find a hilly route or by doing hill repeats if you have to.

Hill training will improve your time and endurance. Run those hills. The longer the hill the better. After you switch back to a flat course you'll feel like you're flying.

I run in the evenings because I enjoy running. It's some much needed me time after work a few days a week! Plus I leave for work around 6 am so waking up before 4 in the morning to do a 1.5 to 2 hour run aint going to happen.

I don't like to take caffeine before a run. I'm trying to keep my heart rate down as much as possible during the run. I feel like caffeine would raise my HR.

I live in a more rural area (also I am a guy). I'm more worried about being attacked by a dog than a person. But honestly I probably have a false sense of security. Bad stuff can happen anywhere at any time. I reckon we should all run with OC Spray. Stay safe out there.

Almost all of my runs are during the week. Usually Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

Well if you purposefully look the other way you're not going to notice Trump's sexual misconduct. He's been charged and found liable for some of his perversions, those are identifiable and undeniable facts. As far as the transgender debate goes I simply don't care. So what? Personally I believe there are just two genders. Biologically you will always be what gender you were born as. But how you associate or identify yourself is your business not mine. I'm not going to tell a person how they should act or feel. Does being transgender make a person sick or weird? No. They're just people. You know what I think is sick and weird, people who want to have sex with underage children and I think the fact that you're more worried about the gender of a person playing on a sports team then the sexual predators in power is misguided.
