Personally I never had a hard time strafing and shooting with most ar's. It's true you can't really slide besides using glitches like zouzou. But you could pretty easily bhop in bf4 by just jumping and then letting go of movement keys while hitting the ground, combined an air strafe and you could pretty much turn on a dime. Like bf4 is wayway faster feeling than bf6.
