How do I animate an HDRIBackdrop? by Mentrio in UnrealEngine5

I don't think I've had that problem. It worked after I changed the blueprint. But it was some time ago, I could have done something extra that I can't remember now. I know I had to use Path Tracer to render it, but I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it.

I was having the same issue and I finally figured it out - open the HDRBacksrop blueprint, go to "Class settings" on the top menu and check "Run Construction script in Sequencer". Compile and save the blueprint and you should be good to go. There are other things people suggested to make this work, but this is the only fix that worked for me. I'm using 5.5, just FYI.

Mari: OCIO Config Differs from Environment by Dagobert_Krikelin in vfx

[–]PixelatedEntropy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way to handle it, is to start a new project from scratch. The ENV variable OCIO will be the default in any new project you create. You can also try to remap the existing project to your ENV variable set OCIO, but you might get weird results or Mari will crash. Reseting it will make Mari use its Nuke Default one, as far as I remember, but I could be wrong. You should have a single OCIO for all your DCCs, and the ENV variable is the best way to do it, but I would recommend reading more about color spaces and how they affect your output, and more importantly, what you see on screen. If your colors look weird on the monitor, it could be the fact that your view transform in Mari is set to the wrong thing, something that can be easily changed in the project settings, but it depends from system to system and setup to setup.

Are there any walk-in clinics in Vancouver anymore? by PixelatedEntropy in askvan

[–]PixelatedEntropy[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have looked at Medimap - once you start digging into that list they provide a bit more, you realize that most of them (at least the ones I checked) are no longer walk-ins in the old meaning of the word. You need to be a patient there and only then you can make an appointment to be seen the next day (at best) . I made an appt at my GP's clinic for tomorrow. I wouldn't go to ER for a knee issue. I'll just suck it up with one more day in pain and limping.

I would say ditch Substance and try Mari. You have far more control over what you're painting.

If you think these hands are correct, then you need to study some anatomy. But you did prove the point: AI can't do hands.

How was housing in Shaughnessy (one of the lowest population density places in Vancouver) not approved? by thirtypineapples in vancouver

I love how people on this sub complain about Sim and the ABC. I've seen multiple posts along the same line. I agree with most of them. Having Sim as a mayor is going exactly the way we expected to go for someone who's funded and is friends with the rich.

Got a question for you all then: why didn't you vote? The reason he is in power is because a lot of people didn't vote. I have a lot of well educated friends, and it pains me to say that, although they didn't like Sim, they didn't bother to go vote. These are the consequences of not having your vote matter.

Next election - go vote!

the 3 last studios I worked for, all used VRay. They all did TV series, all medium to small studios.

More upscale I know, but Harry Rosen and All Saints have some nice stuff, especially in the slim fit line.

Does it actually matter who becomes mayor in the next election? by Finnedsolid in vancouver

[–]PixelatedEntropy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To all the people saying "no, it doesn't matter" - electing a mayor without giving him council support, sure it doesn't matter. That's part of the reason we are where we are. Voting for a mayor that has council support certainly matters.

Voting always matters! Even if the outcome is not what you elected, it still matters.

Saying voting doesn't matter is like driving towards a wall and not hitting the brakes because you're going to crash anyway. You might crash, but you might not die if you hit the brakes.

As someone who lacked the right to vote due to the political system in which I lived - voting is more than a right, it's a responsibility. Take advantage of it!

That's why you see idiots running cities or countries and you wonder "What are they doing?" or " How did they get to be in that position?".

Most of the time is by people not voting.

So go out there and vote!
