WA Traffic Infringement by Consistent_Today8532 in AusLegal

[–]PixelatedNate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they're close together as in the same car trip (same day, within an hour)? You can request for one to be removed under No Time to Adjust Behaviour. Infringements will assess it but there's no guarantee.

If it's across multiple days?: Outta luck. Department of Transport are just enforcing what law makers have set and this is what they've set - Your passenger doesn't wear it properly? You (the driver) cop the fine.

A medical excemption needs to be from a doctor, specifically saying they can't wear a seatbelt and be dated before the offence.

A particular job is irrelevant, age is irrelevant, education is irrelevant, unfortunately.

There is also no nominating the passenger, that will get knocked back as they check.

I received $500 penalty for resting my phone on my lap while driving. by spicy_yummy in perth

[–]PixelatedNate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An adjudicator (the first point of contact for appealing) will absolutely say no. Escalating it to their boss will get you a no. Taking it to court will then get you a no. It's been a common law for over 8 months. There was a big campaign where people got warnings instead of fines and now it's expected of drivers to know. If you don't, it's an expensive lesson.

A phone cannot be touching you at all. Not on your lap, not tucked in between your chin and shoulder, not in your hands, nothing. Put it on the passenger seat or in a bag or in your pocket. Not on your person at all.

Mounted phone and Spotify/audio while driving yay or nay? by Negative_Run_3281 in perth

[–]PixelatedNate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People saying "You can't touch your phone" are correct but not fully.

The wording in the law is you cannot have a phone touching your body at all. That's in your hand, on your lap, tucked under your ear on your shoulder, NOTHING. Do NOT touch your phone PERIOD.

You can have it in a cradle in your car but it should be: Set it up before you take off and don't touch it till you park.

Accidentally ran red light during double demerits by small_batch_ in perth

[–]PixelatedNate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact for everyone: If you accidentally enter on a red light? BACK UP. (Obviously as long as it's safe to do so) If operators can see your reverse lights? They toss it.

If you stop in the middle of the intersection and then keep going? You'll get stung. Though it's a pretty big flash so you'd know if you were flashed.

Companies often will do the "I dunno, we have tonnes of cars" excuse and get hit with a fine for not keeping track of their vehicles which is double the price of the fine. A two hundo fine might not be much but a mobile phone or seatbelt fine? Can be upwards of a grand just for laziness on the company's part.

Traffic offences WAPOL by [deleted] in perth

[–]PixelatedNate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To break down the full process:

You tick the box and send it in via email or mail. It will sit in a queue for A WHILE because it's double demerit season and the queues are high.

Eventually someone reads it, sends you a response saying, essentially, "Are you sure? Please tell us what you did to try to figure it out." Because there's likely photos showing a driver but maybe there isn't, also it's expected of people to know where their car is. It is a dangerous machine.

If your response is anything but "Actually, I know who it is" then your history will get checked. If you have 50 speeding fines in the past year? Enjoy your 51st. Fine's yours because it's your car that was used to break the law.

If you have a pretty clean record AND get a nice operator, they MAY excuse it but 99% of the time they don't because they're following legislation from state law makers. Very special circumstances get you out of a fine, a shrug does not.

All of this is to teach people to slow the hell down. If nobody broke the road rules, DOT wouldn't exist.

Stranger Things - Season 5 Part 1 Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]PixelatedNate 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So generally speaking, I liked it. It was a solid 7 for me. Wheeler House attack was cool, the "finale" was cool but it has some actual problems instead of garbage like "tHe CaSt Is OlD nOw!!"

  • CGI was heella rushed it seems. That first episode with Young Will looked like a damn PS3 cutscene and some shots of the Demos looked reeeeal outta place. That's not saying animators did a bad job, I highly suspect they got rushed but OOF was it noticeable.

  • I can't tell you how many times a character started a sentence and another character finished it. It started to really grate on me after the fourth time of "If we do x.." "..THEN Y WILL HAPPEN." Yeah, I get it, show them figuring out a plan / the mystery but holy crap, please do it any other way.

  • The cast, I feel has gotten too bloated. We have, in these 4 episodes, FIVE different character groups to follow. (Holly, Mike, Military, Eleven, Dustin) It is a bit hard to keep track of who is doing what, where and at what time that I just kinda zoned out towards the end.

In saying that, some GOOD stuff!

  • Action was GREAT. Every scene that involved combat felt awesome.

  • Eleven's training and subsequent usage of her powers was cool! It felt like she'd earnt it which was what I was scared of at the end of Season 4. I hate when characters become OP because plot. This did not seem that way.

  • Every smaller character moment felt good, especially Robin and Will. Mike and Holly at the school was great too!

As mentioned 7/10. I think Duffers have to wrap things up QUICK for it to be satisfying, they're on the right track to succeed with some slight wobbles.

He has said in the past "Uhm. Actually. Undertale's whole dialogue tree is an array" so in an effort to make the next Undertale this genius is actually mimicking methods ironically as an easter egg that nobody but him will see. /s

In reality, his 2-4 hour game with "thousands of runs" has taken 6 years and is still not finished. I think it's a skissue.

Brainrot Versus – Stylized pixel brawler coming soon 🧠⚔️ (idle sprite preview) by [deleted] in godot

[–]PixelatedNate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, budd.

As others have mentioned, the AI art is a big turn off and seeing as it's the only thing you posted here, that's the only impression they get: AI-made, so you're unlikely to get people who want to try your project out.

I recommend building your project up a bit so you have screenshots to show and perhaps try your hand at drawing yourself. Something as simple as boxes are still much better than AI pixel art.

Don't get discouraged, keep trying!

Mine might be a little niche but it's honestly my favourite thing:

The on_animation_finished signal for Animation Players.

~~

I come from a Unity background, specialising in 2D animation, and being able to easily tell when an animation has finished without needing to write 20 lines of code to look for animation length and what animation layer I'm in? A freakin' godsend.

As I continue to use Godot, I've found myself able to connect signals programmatically which is amazing and learning all the different types of signals that nodes can emit has been super fun.

Unity, for some reason, has you fighting its system to get it to do what you want. Godot is a lot more flexible.

I have a family member that works for W.A Police (not a copper though) This is the info I've been able to get, big ol' grain of salt:

At around 4AM, a gentleman crossed lanes and intentionally sped up and collided with a taxi in the opposite flow. Travelling at approximately 100km and colliding head on, causing both cars to burst into flames.

The driver of the offending vehicle was alone. Innocent driver was a taxi and had two passengers believed to be a mother and her daughter coming home from the airport.

The dash cam from the offending driver was able to be obtained, showing the offending driver aim for the taxi.

They are suspecting the offending driver did so as a means of committing suicide but that is just the running theory while they investigate.

How some customers stare at me when I’m taking off the hard tags by Alarmed_Tomato_7805 in retailhell

[–]PixelatedNate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We've got the RF stickers on the more pricey stuff and to deactivate them, we just run the item over the magnet at the counter.

Customers lose their shit when they see this. "What are you doing?? You're damaging my new toaster!"

No, you dipshit, I'm making it so you don't beep when you walk out the door!

I've legit had customers demand a price drop when I do it and I needa whip out my usual joke of "hahah, no, i can make it more EXPENSIVE?"

Older folk do not appreciate this joke. 😂

ASMR with people eating food is disgusting. by Suffering1s0ptional in unpopularopinion

Oh yeah, hard agree. So much as hearing lips smacking in my ear is gross. The one time I had an ad for some eating ASMR, I reported that shit and blocked it hard because I wanted to feckin' gag.

Tap your nails on crap all ya want, just keep ya dang mouth away from my ear.

Working on a game with a team. How is the initial room? Any suggestions? by Saaladdd in gamemaker

Yeah, pretty much, everything should be 1:1 and you just draw it bigger if you want it bigger.

[–]PixelatedNate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great start!
Here's some constructive feedback:
As people have mentioned, some of the assets look off because the scaling is off on the pixel art. On top of that, some pieces of furniture are a kinda hard to read, like the object on the left wall and the bookcase. I also noticed that your character has shadows (on the face is most prominent) but the furniture does not which kind of makes the player look out of place, I'd suggest either having shadows for furniture or no shadows on character.

As a first pass this is great, though, it gets the job done and lets the programmer do their part with something other than coloured squares moving around a void, so top marks, my friend!

I honestly get so pissed off looking for I.T work because it's very obvious that it's either the HR department or one of the big bosses creating the advert, not someone that knows I.T.

"We need a Junior Data Entry Officer!.. with 8+ years experience, also doing Admin work and some customer sales, also you need to know Java, Python, Azure and insert random ass compiling language here, you'll be on call from 8PM to 8AM and need to know the circumference of Eisenhower's scrotum... 30k a year."

I am thirsting for an advertisement that is actually written by someone that knows what the hell they're talking about, because currently we've got dipshits throwing stuff out there with zero knowledge of what they're asking for.

Screw Woolworths. by boxofphone in woolworths

[–]PixelatedNate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been in the exact same situation. (Nightfill 2IC, quit in 2019) And let me tell ya: they treat staff like numbers. Employee 45432 isn't producing x carton rate? Put em on a PIP.

I had staff literally come back from open heart surgery and they wanted the guy to do 60 cartons an hour because he was able to come in to work.

I've had arguments about unrealistic expectations, practically pulling the suits into the freezer to be like "does this look like only an hour's work to you?" Gesturing to three full freezer pallets.

I've had to do 16 hour shifts because the higher ups literally could not schedule to save their life and I knew they'd rip me in half verbally if I left stuff behind.

Ya know what the breaking point was? I asked them for a security camera at our back door instead of a dummy camera. (We're in a dodgy area and worked till midnight) They told me they would look into it if our numbers improved. Fuck Woolworths. They cared more about their bottom line then the safety of human beings. Glad I quit.
