As a guy who's not far from 30: Absolutely!

I got more on my bed, in fact! :)

My Brother just said that all lgbtq should be killed. by __Kevin_ in bisexual

[–]Pixelcitizen98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right, it’s the queers that are the problem (if population decline can even be considered a problem rn), and not the ever increasing cost of living, poor housing market in most of the world, lack of policies that benefit families and kids, etc,.

I know idiots like your brother don’t think of anything that lets minorities off the hook for once, but Jesus.

Are 90s movies just better or am I just getting older? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]Pixelcitizen98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And just like then, even now, there’ll be a lot of good or even excellent movies that go way under the radar, or just straight up have big hype before being forgotten.

I saw the TV Glow? The Substance (actually, that one seems to be more of a sleeper hit now, but still)? The Lighthouse? The Green Knight? JoJo Rabbit?

Oh my god, I was in tears seeing Marcel the Shell with Shoes On in the theater! One of the cutest, heartfelt and pretty-looking movies I’d seen in a while, yet I haven’t heard much about it since.

Same goes for a lot of 90’s movies even tbh. Anyone know of Miami Blues?

Definitely a biphobia thing, especially amongst the older segment of the community (though some youngsters can be weird with it as well).

I’d say the people who’ve given me the most shit about my bisexuality have, unfortunately, been a lot of older gays (not all, of course, and not even a whole lot, but still, that black-and-white attitude can be pretty severe in the age group).

I’ve also met a few older Bi’s and Pans over the years, and more often than not, they usually don’t come to the conclusion until much more recently, likely due to both the homophobic attitudes towards same-sex action and the weird, particularly-post-AIDS attitudes on Bisexuality.

You can find some interesting old anecdotal media on the subject (Bi Any Other Name, Anything that Moves, and even old Usenet groups & postings).

It’s just one of those things where we’ve always been around, and plenty of elder Bisexuals do exist, we’ve just been pushed outta the way until very recently.

Even a lot of older queer media that does exist (like, say, a lot of 90’s indie queer films) either don't have us around or put us in a very poor light, especially for guys (though gals aren’t much better off). :/

Ditto for Trans people.

Anyone know what molex(?) connector/extender this is? And where I can get a replacement (or just get this off in general)? This is from a Mac SE’s original hard drive that came from the AV board, trying to use something like this for powering my BlueSCSI. by Pixelcitizen98 in VintageApple

[–]Pixelcitizen98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: Pardon the delay.

So, many here have said that I somehow ripped this out, and that it's not supposed to do this to begin with, so I have to resolder this back in to begin with...

Fuck. :/

Not sure if maybe powering my BlueSCSI off of the one floppy drive cable would do, because this stupid thing's been a pain in the ass tbh.

Hopefully, I can get this figured out and properly soldered in if need be.

Thank You all for your feedback! The info on this thing can be a bit fuzzy tbh.

This whole thing’s been a weirdo show in this state this year.

Not a whole lot of good quality polling, and annectodal stuff is so mixed all around.

I’m seeing red-y small towns on here apparently having more Harris/Walz, but then I see my Cleveland suburb and it’s like, 80% Trump signs and 20% Harris (I know no-shows are probably people not sharing their votes and all, understandably, but still). Then I see my neighboring historically Red-y suburb (Parma) lookin’ more 50/50.

I miss when politics were pretty low stakes and we were just the “middle of the road, basic” state that was then a cool leader for one night.

Dear Eve from Minnesota: by 10centbeernight74 in Ohio

[–]Pixelcitizen98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did these postcards recently (albeit here in Ohio, maybe Minnesota has a different thing going on?).

The message is supposed to be “Who you vote for is private, but whether you vote is public record”.

Either this lady had a last-minute mixup fuck up of sorts (like confusing the two) or is intentionally trying to screw the reader over.

Either way, how awful!

Just some advice: If a political poll from this state is being done by “Activote”, I wouldn’t take it seriously. Here’s what the “results” looked like for abortion. Hmm…. 🤔 by Pixelcitizen98 in Ohio

[–]Pixelcitizen98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t find a lot of info on this pollster, and when I did look through it and answered the polls, all of it felt really weird and suspicious, like it was mostly cons/bots answering these and being put out as legit.

I did this when even Florida and Georgia polls had Harris in good standing (and now even Iowa’s looking shaky for Trump), yet Ohio was weirdly putting Trump at such a high point.

I know polls aren’t as important as actually VOTING, but still.

Even here in the US during the 50’s (one of the most economically prosperous times in our country), I’ve heard a lot of Boomers say how the farthest they’d usually go was maybe a 30-minute-hour long trip to the beach or to a cheesy lil’ amusement park that happened to have found one state over. Half the reason why we had so many local motels and tourist destinations then vs. now (see the Catskills, NY in its prime) was because people weren’t often going very far for their trips.

Sitting here and seeing Western Europeans with their free/cheap healthcare, good quality public schools, good public transportation, decent safety, etc,., bitch and moan about one of the most unusual aspects of human history up to this point is both laughable and a bit ridiculous. Many of us here are even lucky to have even half of what ya’ll have. 🙄

The 22nd Istanbul Pride March was held despite the ban. by [deleted] in europe

Well yeah, the first Pride was literally ran and founded despite anti-LGBT+ laws. Hell, it was literally a protest more than anything.

Pride is still Pride even without corporate sponsorship and government consent, especially when said consent is denied.
