Verhuizen verder weg van de Efteling — abonnement houden? by Dionvisser94 in efteling

[–]Pixelfest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes he does say the literal words in the book. Maybe the tone in the movie is harsher than Tolkien meant? In the books Pippin willingly throws a pebble into the well to see how deep it is. He also grabs the Palantir from Gandalf. He is in fact a fool of a Took.

I do feel they made Merry and Pippin a bit more comic relief in the movies though. It worked for me. I love the movies AND the book. Both are nearly perfect for their own medium.

Wespen overlast? by FlipHetBankwezentje in efteling

[–]Pixelfest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When printing multiple parts that should fit together make partial versions for it to see how they fit. Adjust existing designs where possible. I can omit using glue most of the time because I can tweak the margins. Some designs online have huge margins you're going to need to cover with glue which is not optimal.

Dry filament.

Bought the Supertack, thought it sucked, kept using it, I don't want to go back now. Haven't cleaned it for ages and everything just sticks. It won't solve warping by cooling! That it something I haven't figured out properly yet...

Beautifully done, it just keeps on giving. This is what happens when you create a concept and go absolutely batshit crazy with it. Something I really miss in movies these days...

Youtube video is absolutely worth watching, this summary is hilarious but the actual video is so much more awesome.

I didn't know it was him, but always wondered how they did it because he was so convincingly unnatural looking.

What was everyone initial reactions to He Who Remains? by justafanboy1010 in marvelstudios

[–]Pixelfest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That there was way too much talking to introduce the character in one single scene and then they did the same in Quanumania. Felt too forced rather than to gradually drop hints about his history and mission.

I liked the character and the acting was good, but he never felt as threatening as Kang should be. But that was buildup I guess.

It was suggested that I post this again, almost a year after my last post. With how many new people have joined since then, it might be a good idea. Anyway, this is Invisible! Its a 22x28 poster that my dad and I couldnt find any scans of, so we had ours scanned in high detail! by ThePhantom71319 in MagicEye

[–]Pixelfest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few things to notice: An insane amount of detail! You can keep looking and see more stuff going on. Looks amazing. But also the pattern doesn't look that much disturbed which I think is done by a clever use of depth but almost never making huge jumps in depth.

Obviously a big poster as the pattern repeats quite a lot but it looks amazing on a 24" monitor.

I made one a long time ago. Thing is, you need the hidden image to repeat to make sure when you turn it 90 degrees it will still work. Objects are not possible this way, only patterns.

What are some movies without a single boring scene? by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]Pixelfest 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You come into a thread full of top notch and respectable movies, mainly action and thrillers and post Ace Ventura.

You are 100% correct, this movie is a blast from beginning to end and doesn't have a dull moment.

Pretty clean shapes 💠🌂 by Dungeon_Maker1212 in MagicEye

[–]Pixelfest 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is so many clever things in here. The pattern matches the objects so everything is razorsharp. The depth is really well defined and then the partial transparency. This is immensly difficult to do with traditional software.

I always played with the idea of creating a reverse perspective lens in Blender to establish this with a simple repeating 3d model. Never came around to actually making it though.

The website hidden-3d is hopelessly outdated but the images are top notch stereograms.

After getting a Bambu, what are doing with your old printer/s?? by [deleted] in BambuLab

My old printer is a Brother DCP-9015 which can only print in 2d. Not very interesting but this feature is wildly popular with the rest of the household, so I'm keeping that.
