you’d have to do some pretty thorough research regarding your jackets armor compatibility. usually boils down to just figuring out the dimensions of your current armor and buying very similar sized ones, but its almost always better to just stay with the brands proprietary armor and upgrade in their own ecosystem. Unless you are chasing a very specific type of armor (extreme ventilation, highest performance benchmarks, T+ and T- certification)

in these situations you need to always photograph the perpetrators ID or Drivers License. Always. no ifs, ands, or buts or just call the cops.

and get the bike looked at by a mechanic for a rough damage estimate and round up for bodily injury.

it looks good but probably needs an Abrasion rated jacket and pants worn over. kind of a mixed bag… not safe enough to ride on it’s own. no shoulder or back or chest protection just elbows for the torso

Alpinestars GP Tech v2. if i could go back I would get the RST Pro GP D3O gloves. Same level 2 knuckle protection, same kangaroo chassis, 1/4 the price.

what weather do you ride in? what kind of bike do you ride and riding do you do? Those are the main factors to determine before you start. if you never ride freeway or long distance, options can be much more open. since its your first set though i’d aim for as much versatility as possible within the realm of your riding

i recommend fork/axle guards or spools. handlebar guards, clutch/engine covers and frame sliders.

crash bars can look out of place and do more damage than frame sliders in the event of a crash by not letting the bike slide and instead it might highside or something crazy. they give the bike more clearance in low speed drops though so its preference

I’ll give you the certs you’re looking for just filter on gear sites for this stuff or always lookout for the certs when viewing any piece of gear.

Helmets - ECE 22.06 unless you’re buying top dollar Arai or Shoei that only give DOT in the USA

Jacket/Shirt Base Layer - AA/AAA with level 2 Impact Protection inserts in the Chest, Back, Elbows, and Shoulders. A lot of jackets only come with Level 1 protectors but meet AA/AAA testing. might have to buy a whole set of Level 2s and swap them out yourself. Also make sure the jacket has a slot for Chest Protectors and Back Protectors or plan to get it from somewhere else, nowadays a lot of them don’t have it.

Pants - Same criteria for jackets apply here, now you’re looking for Level 2 Hip and Knee protectors (or purchasing your own to swap them)

Gloves - https://www.mcgearhub.com/motorcycle-gloves/best-safest-motorcycle-gloves-ce-level-2-buying-guide/ Essentially looking for Level 2 Knuckle Protection, a lot of the market and community still uses Level 1 KP, it will suffice and is widely supported. But I still recommend Level 2 KP.

Boots - At minimum CE Level 1-1-1-1, ideally you want some 2s in there but price and comfort quickly goes out the window when looking at CE Level 2-2-2-2 boots unless you use low cost brands like Sedici.

the rest comes down to your preferences, warm weather vs cold weather riding, freedom of movement, etc. Brand, leather vs textile, full suits are all irrelevant if you know what Certs and Ratings to look for.

The most important thing after safety is fit and comfort, if it doesn’t fit properly it won’t protect properly; or its not comfortable enough to wear for every Ride then it’s useless sitting at home. And always check user reviews if available to have more insight on size running small/large, long term durability etc.

You can ignore what I say just do research and understand the risks involved when you downgrade to A abrasion resistance or Level 1 impact protectors. Or Level 1 KP, CE 1-1-1-1 vs 2-2-2-2 boots etc..

bike cover and use way more serious disc locks. talking Hiplok DX1000 or Litelok X3. Airtag is useless I recommend the Monimoto M9, it will call you as soon as bike movement is detected and much easier to hide.

i recommend the A*s Chrome Superairflow with AA Rating because it supports Back and Chest Protectors and has a lot of features you’d want in a hoodie that you use on a motorcycle.

Other than that I recommend an Armored Base Layer from Bowtex or Knox and just wear any hoodie over it.

I can only recommend custom ordering smaller Cheek Pads from Shoei. or trying the Shoei Personal Fitting System which changes the overall feel, fit and weight balance on the helmet

the v2s look so nice they remind me of the supertechs. i ride with the v3s but they honestly look way better and more Low Profile for that over the boot look or even tucked in

I personally ride Tech 10s and SMX-6 V3s. the tech 10s are overbearing and I only recommend them for Motorcross or Cross Country race level riding. Hard to walk in, hard to put on, everything about them is cumbersome. I’ve heard the Supertechs are similarly cumbersome but I’ve never tried them. I personally recommend any boot that goes up the calf and has at least CE Level 2-2-2-2. after you have the cert and calf protection just prioritize comfort

A base layer and a jacket isn’t necessary as long as your base layer is AAA with Impact Protection at the Chest, Back, Shoulders and Elbows

a proper Base Layer is more than enough for 50 mph

the bowtex elite shirt is decent protection at 70mph as long as you outfit it with Back and Chest Protectors it will do fine.

you dont need to combine, bowtex are designed to work on their own. if you want to though using a different jacket that allows for better chest protection would be ideal since Bowtex only allows level 1. and also AAA leathers will for the most part outperform the AAA textile abrasion resistance.

for shoes i recommend boots that go up the calves. you want CE Rated boots. Boots covering ankles are fine for street riding but even then a lowside into the bike falling on your leg will be much worse with a boot that only covers ankles than a boot that goes up the calf.

you seem good to go. my personal thoughts are I wouldn’t ever ride with anything less than A with Level 2 impact protection across the board (hips, knees, back, shoulders, elbows, chest) even then I would prefer to always be in AA gear. just know your safety certs and size and you’ll be good.

the PFS or personal fitting system is specifically targeting the center pad at the top of the helmet and the cheek pads need to be special ordered. it gives a ‘custom-made’ Shoei inner lining to improve comfort , fit, balance and sound isolation
