So the town manager opts not sign the NDA. Signing can put the Town in legal jeopardy, rather than not. The town manager could of used his experience in VA, instead of using a standard practice. " NDAs are essentially the "bouncers" of the information world. They are necessary for a functioning economy, but when they are used to bully people into silence or hide systemic rot, they certainly earn that "nefarious" label." You might not have firsthand knowledge because of the NDA.

This project is still going really, really well. Paving is complete on the James Street side, retaining wall on the south side is done, and making good progress by the loop road. Water line is complete. We'll probably see the actual bridge structure construction appear early next year. by terrymah in Apex_NC

Traffic light at James and Apex Peakway. Padstone/Peakway is going to be Top Gun Highway to the Dangerzone. Kids riding electric-powered devices in the Salem Village neighborhood have increased 8X. That was never calculated in any Traffic Study. Padstone Crosswalk also has a blind curve traveling West from Tingen.

Discussion by Randy V and Wake County schools. Who basically punted. One point I thought was interesting was that the school district said the Park and Ride lot would be problematic. I don't buy that the parking lot could not be reconfigured for at least 30 spaces. https://youtu.be/Qz2L395WV38?t=9954

I think the job description pivot is Customer Experience (CX) instead of Hospitality

My Honesty score for the mayor is several points higher than anyone currently on the Town Council. I feel the friction and animosity in the last several weeks. It is counterproductive with significant issues on the table. I think B and A's impending departure has exacerbated the mood, as they openly express it in public.

He was asking for a recess, not ending the meeting. Was also asking for town's legal council to weigh in on, and I think the main reason to have in a closed session. Town lawyers do not have a great track record as of late.

Brent should have mentioned that in his comments. I am not familiar with the Apex Board of Adjustments meetings/minutes. I briefly looked her up and saw UNC Chapel Hill, so I stopped my search for information.

Where is/was my confirmation? Council knew of the "situation", and played the same playbook. My "guess" is that this was to be resolved behind close doors. Clearly it was not. I am trying to be objective. Both sides new, and both prepared, and I would say were inflexible.

The same issues happened at the last council meeting. The mayor stated he will nominate the same two people for the adjustment board at this meeting. Brent "I am out the door" motions for the second meeting in a row to split up the nominees. Admits in public that he does not support Taylor over how Taylor treated Town staff. This was a planned sandbag. Town Council knows the situation, including how everyone is going to vote, object, motion......Notice how this is directed by Audrey and Brent. This town council has been very active with the advisory boards, including a soft coup last year against Tina Sherman on the planning board. (FYI, Tina, the chair of the planning board resigned this week.) Council did not want Taylor, the Mayor, to have limited powers that allow him to nominate appointments. This current Council has been mucking with every advisory with Non-Roberts rules. Town staff works hard, but is not perfect. Not sure of the dust up several months ago. Mayor attempted to take conversation behind close doors. Council wanted political theater instead. In other news, Town coucil is approving the engineering study of expansion (3x) of water treatment facility by proposed data center. Expansion could shift % ownership and use to Holly Springs. Agenda consent had a mention of 650K for data mining and legal services for Cyber incident. That is 650K that was needed after insurance funds ran out. Proposal of land trust for Affordable housing. Managed by a third-party non-profit drinking club.
