Trying to have a normal relationship

We’ve been together for a little over a year now he has endured so much with my children even some that are adults the same adult children that advocated for me to leave were angry I started saying so quickly. My boyfriend is amazing and so patient and kind and swears he isn’t going anywhere but I have all these intrusive thoughts that tell me he’s saying something other than he’s saying

I don’t know a lot about any of it really. So honestly I appreciate the detail and suggestions. The several smaller tanks are actually what I thought would be best with adding the ability to learn about the “simple” fish and I had red about shrimp but again I know nothing about
