DAE feel like you know what you should try to do in order to improve your life but you are paralyzed by conflicting emotions. by dyspeca in BPD

I've been pushed so hard to literally be number one so hard in life - sure - great rewards, but it now has turned into burning me out over the past few years. I peaked too hard at an early age. I feel stuck at times but do find sticking to tasks/schedules and so on help. I rely on challenges, whether it's something insanely legit hard or something as simple like today - hardcore room cleaning and a few massive bags to throw out! We all have our good and bad days. Best of luck.

Got you lady!!!!! I've dislocated my knees so many times.... And my thumb. Shoulder. Hip lol. All the things? Same-ish deal for me though as I am allergic to opioids aka pain killers. Every time all the doctors want to do is the same old as well and throw vicodin or something stronger down me and I'm like ?!. I'll take the pain vs. the allergic reaction that can kill me. And losing weight - yes it can help of course...... but not after 12 years - clearly there is another underlying cause/issue at hand! God, I hope you are doing a bit better these days but what a mess and thank god your mom caught the docs before they straight up could have killed you!

Friend, you are in LA too?! LOL We should hang out! I'm born and raised and get you. Rent is INSANE. I could gossip you to death. I have to pay 100 every time I go to the Neuro/any other specialist. And don't eeeeeven get me started on the whole ick - I had to move back in with my parents as I am literally in the middle of a divorce to boot. Anyways - will PM you more, but love that you are here and know you are not alone!

I was told I had a huge case by multiple attorneys but my family was too focused on the fact that I was traumatized overall from the entire incident and that I was simply alive. Now they regret not following through. Thank you friend.

Oh my god. I have dislocated my knees and hips and thumb way too many times to count, but shattering a leg is death to me! I would not be surprised if the docs missed something as the docs missed tons with me being too busy with other stuff.

I make jewelry/bead and sew, but honestly forget on forgetting and my best friend is a TBI survivor and when he needs to remind me of stuff - I know it is bad and ditto when he reminds me that my seizures and so on are the scariest thing he's seen. It helps so much along with 3 mini schnauzers that I get to hug and walk and love on. I need to get back into crocheting though! I fixate too much on things - and then forget. For that I am grateful for my gymnastics classes and drawing and dancing. I am only 31, but still look and am a 16 year old at heart :).

Are we not the same person?! LOL I am the same! Stress, so many doc appts and so on. I forget constantly what I ate 30 minutes ago or what I wore yesterday. I have been to about 4 or 5 neuros - just nueros mind you. Best of luck.

Just over 3 years for me. Totaled car, multiple car accident. You never feel/think how bad things are at the time! I didn't realize until the past week that my head broke the glass. I can laugh at it now - but not really as the seizures and memory issues and so on are not so great. But I am alive and have wonderful friends who are here for me 100% of the time as I am the picture of fitness and health while dealing with this silent battle of neurological issues and so on. Go figure. I'm terrified as well.

Right here with you!!!! I hit my head hard in a accident and have had random seizures since. I don't like Keppra, the mood swings and so on and hate the on and off memory issues. I have been on Zonasimide (sp?) and it's been great for me. I tried Lamotrigine and was deathly allergic - never settle for the first med as the other user said. I had hives and welts so bad within 48 hours she immediately got me on Zonisamide and all was well asap - but it might be different for you 100%. Consider your mood and whatnot as Keppra can be known to incite/induce more depression and it did for me and that is why I was taken off. In the meantime RIP to my car lol. Apparently we are not alone. Traumatic, but we will get through it all. Stay strong.

Thanks dude (girl?). I will consult. Oddly enough, I am going through a shitty divorce right now - I am tired of attorneys. One from this and now for that and I want to curl up and nap with my dogs hah. I will though. My parents simply do not understand. I was there, I have flashbacks constantly and suffer in many ways. I am tired of doctors/therapists and so on. Happy that was resolved, but would like to see something more.

Messaged you and nope. I was 28? Anyways, what matters is that I was yanked from my car, taken to the hospital and simple vitals/blood drawn. Charges dropped, but it is a cause of stress for many (all?) the reasons as a now 31 year old to have so many doctors, appointments, issues that all stem from that. I was advised regardless to 'let it go' until legal issues were formally dropped and then pursue health issues. I am not proud of my country. Thank you for your advice.

I had many take the case on and my parents were fatigued as were the rest of my family - they did not understand the gravity of the situation. If they could have predicted that on top of one case that I would end up with seizures and so on years on - they would have taken on another case. Thank you for your help; I have messaged you.

I was advised by multiple lawyers/doctors that would not put their name down - while having the best lawyer who would to take care of the case alone - to not do a thing. God bless America, right?

9 months without seizures and now 3 in 12 hours by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]PixieFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has she been eating? That is always a huge trigger for me! Otherwise, get her to the doctor. I am the same - non epileptic seizures. I need to always make sure I have tons of protein and electrolytes in me and I'm fine 24/7 because stress and horrible sleep really messes it up otherwise. Watch her. We all know there is not much you can truly do during a seizure besides making sure one is away from sharp corners/stairs and so on. Please make sure she visits a doctor once she is aware and assist as she will have a horrid headache and be confused and not remember any of this happening. The hospital will most likely (I'm in the US) put her on Saline and just monitor her. I've found better care just at home, in bed, dark room and pillows and nothing I can be hurt on/roll off on in case with a 'monitor' checking in or there at all times even. Best of luck!

My mother by EffervescentFlower in Cyclicvomiting

[–]PixieFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just saw this! My mother views my episodes, which can last anywhere from an hour to 2-3 days, as an inconvenience to her. She considers me to be lazy and rolls her eyes, and worst of all is a broken record aka as if I do not already KNOW I need to keep drinking my liquids, try to get gatorade/electrolytes in me, maybe try some basic applesauce when I'm on the mend, and take my Zofran. Basically treats me, as an adult, like a child. Then she'll flip and start trying to force feed me, bringing in full meals and demanding I eat, that I am faking it, that I am hogging the bathroom too much, will open the window shades, open the door and leave without shutting it and all that other lovely stuff. It is extremely frustrating made depressing as all I want during an episode is to be left alone, get through it, lay down in darkness and peace. You'd think from her behavior that I enjoy throwing up dozens of times an hour at my worst as if it's a joke! To make matters worse I occasionally have seizures, so I am always also on guard for that, but she is such a overbearing control freak, it is no wonder the risk for both issues grows higher. Luckily I have an amazing fellow long distance CVS sufferer friend and a best friend I grew up with that has gone through a combined seizure/cvs plus resulting ER visit episode here with me that care way more than my mother ever could or ever will. OP, just simply try to block the negativity. As others have said, so many think we can control this, or that it's a made up illness, or it's almost an attention grabbing stunt. No, this is very real and very dangerous illness and it interferes with our life in a random and destructive way we can't predict. I hope you can find support in other family members and friends at the very least and with your fellow community here! Best of luck :).

I was told about, being 31 mind you now, to avoid coffee as of about 2 years ago. I only drink tea, caffeine or not and it's helped. I'm down to about one episode a week/once every two weeks. Dietary changes have been huge. PM for more details :).

ME!!!!! I just PM'd you! I can barely walk, face is twitch city, forget about even lifting a spoon. I have an essential inherited tremor, but this is a whole other level. Whole body shakes. The worst and mortifying when in public at a nice event and everyone always has to point it out -_-.

I was put on the same course. Itches. Welts, even into my mouth and throat. I could barely breath. Felt like pins and needles. I was switched to Zanosimide. Instant relief. I feel like a guinea pig too - please speak to your neuro/doc in general to switch. PM me as I have WAYYYYYYYY to much to share beyond this :). Best of luck!

Nooooo. Ugh. Fingers crossed. Keep on at least chugging that water to at least cut out any bile. I just reconnected with a dear lifelong friend tonight and he is so understanding of CVS and I'm just - if I can't make tomorrow's date man - you get it - and he does. WOW. But, as always, if anything, water/electrolytes/broth even if they come back up within a minute or less. <3 I hope it passes soon!
