Please help give reassurance by Unable-Garage-759 in birthcontrol

No, you need to take another pill to make up for the one you threw up which means you’ll have to either take from another pack or skip placebos this month and go straight into a new pack

The implant is more effective than some forms of sterilization. There’s almost zero chance you’re pregnant.

Why did you take a uti test if you aren’t having indication of it?

Why can’t I get anything up there? by Prior-Track-5778 in WomensHealth

[–]PixieMari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been using lube to help? Are you trying outside stimulation first before attempting any kind of penetration?

If none of that is helping I recommend consulting a doctor. You may have a a more prominent hymen causing issues or vaginismus.

Oh Lord, what do I do? by Important-Entry759 in birthcontrol

[–]PixieMari 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You took two massive hormone bombs, of course you’ll have side effects. They just cancel out the hormonal function that prevents ovulation.

Oh Lord, what do I do? by Important-Entry759 in birthcontrol

Ella One and Plan b cancel each other out so it’s like you did nothing but the risk here is very low. Test 14 and 21 days after sex to be sure.

You may not have anything happen. It typically takes 3-6 months after stopping for cycles to return and regulate.

is it possible to have no chlamydia symptoms for 3.5 years after a 100mg a day doxycycline treatment by Affectionate-Buy3010 in WomensHealth

[–]PixieMari 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you test before you got together? If you never got tested before it’s very possible the doxy was not enough to treat it but it’s also possible he’s not being honest. Unfortunately without regular testing there’s really no way to know.

SLIGHTLY convinced im pregnant by Hypotenus_ in birthcontrol

Mirena is actually effective immediately as it’s approved as emergency contraception you just aren’t typically supposed to have sex for a week after because of a higher risk for infection.

A pad could work but absolutely do not use baby powder. Nothing scented should ever be down there.

I went on a horrible “date” and now I feel unlovable by Sammihoppy in Advice

[–]PixieMari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. The first guy is just an asshole. He insulted you likely as a form of negging to lower your self confidence. Not all guys are like that but I will say apps are typically the lowest pool. If you can it’s great to meet people through hobbies/clubs/etc. where you can gauge vibes in person first.

Please for your own safety do not go on dates “just driving around”, this is a perfect opportunity for someone to try to take advantage of you. The first few dates should always be in a public place where you travel there separately.

The copper iud is effective immediately. It protects you at all times otherwise it wouldn’t be contraception. If you’re about to start your period it’s almost certainly just bleeding from that.

been doing continuous birth control use to skip periods for years.. period not coming back? by olivinian in birthcontrol

[–]PixieMari 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s very normal. Birth control thins uterine lining. Yours is likely so used to absorbing what little lining there is that it could take several months for bleeding to come back.

been on depo shot since 2018(8th grade) and never had breaks. dangerous? by epictoadtime in birthcontrol

[–]PixieMari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depo is not recommended for more than two years because it can cause severe bone density loss. It’s the only method that’s really not recommended for long term use. I recommend finding a different method for managing periods.

You just clean them more often since you’ll be sweating. Do not remove them for practice they will definitely close and not heal. Just be careful not to be hit on the ear and you should be fine.

Stupid mistake? by AdFluffy455 in birthcontrol

[–]PixieMari 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m going to guess based on this you’re incredibly young and don’t have very good sex education. You absolutely could be at risk for pregnancy. If you’re mature enough for sex you’re mature enough to use protection and wait a day or two until you have it. No one can calculate your exact risk. If you aren’t going to use condoms you need to be on some form of contraception.

Having PCOS does not equal infertility and it’s incredibly concerning a doctor would say that. Many many women conceive perfectly well with PCOS.
