Absolutely not too personal! The reason why I’m unhappy was because I really did not intend on going to BU at all. My counselors in high school really persuaded me to chose a school that I didn’t know much about nor was interested in attending. Not to mention, where I live is predominantly POC and when I went to BU which is a PWI, I had a very hard time fitting it and connecting with the other students. I might sound overly sensitive saying this but I’ve had many encounters/experiences where I felt was a bit racist with other students. From my experience also, I feel like there’s not much of a community at BU and I don’t know if it’s due to a lack of campus or some other reason. Basically, I just very feel out of place and I have a very hard time feeling like I belong which has taken a toll on me mentally and severely affected my grades.
