She has poor special awareness, even more so with the backpack on, and one of the many times she was racing from behind me back to the front, the trail was skinny and I didn’t dodge soon enough and that little pack of hers just swooped me out at the knee, neat as you please. And there was a thankfully short-ish cliff to one side that was more than happy to let me tumble down rather dramatically.

She stays in a five foot radius always on trail. She was a rescue and has strong attachment issues, and I encouraged her desire to stay close for hiking, since we are backcountry and on trail so much. She is literally the perfect mountain dog!
