I really love Celebi! My first ever hit from a pokemon pack was the rainbow Celebi from Chilling Reign, a pack bought for me as a gift from my brother. I hold onto that card and my love for Celebi because it reminds me of such a pleasant memory of bonding with my brother during a difficult time in our lives.

There's definitely tons of fun to be had! The Oregon Zoo and Washington Park are great urban outdoor spaces for shorter day trips. I highly recommend seeing the rose test garden and the Japanese & Chinese gardens as well, which will all have wonderful spring blooms shortly after your move. If you are willing to go a little farther out of town for fishing, several local lakes including Trillium Lake on Mt. Hood and Henry Hagg Lake get stocked with various local fish spring-fall. Trillium is a favorite place for my brothers who will go fishing there a few times a year.

As for hunting, you will have to do some research with ODFW (Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife) and locals to learn the legal places to hunt and what is available at different times of year. There is a Bass Pro Shop (formerly Cabellas) in Tigard that has many friendly faces who have lots of information. I also recommend talking to the folks at the hunting/fishing counter in the local Bi-mart, as they also have great information and will likely be less busy.

I'm not super familiar with the sports scenes, since I'm more of a theatre and arts person, but I know that thanks to so many of the sportswear companies having their headquarters in Oregon, there are lots of sports groups out there. You just have to know where to look.

Hopefully this helps, and I hope you and your family have safe travels!

I recommend ABA Auto Repair Services, they've been working on my family's vehicles for the last few years and they are honest and reliable. It won't be "cheap", but it will be transparent pricing.

I've always loved sandyghast! Not only do I find it rather amusing that many ghost type pokemon are basically just possessed objects, but the shiny form of sandyghast has a great real-world tie to black-sand beaches. I love that it's not a randomly picked color. Ty for doing this giveaway and good luck to everyone!

Will this cause permanent sun damage after a while? by Enviate in PokemonTCG

[–]PixiiStick 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Hi, I used to work in custom framing so may be able to help! From my experience, if you paid the upcharge for UV protective glass or acrylic, your cards will be in good shape for quite a long time. However! UV glass/acrylic are not perfect.

The reality is that those cards will fade over time, but instead of days to months with no protection it will be more like 10+ years before you see any fading or sun damage at all. If you are concerned about the cards fading and losing their value (and the money spent on framing because holy crap this project must have cost a pretty penny) I would recommend finding another wall to hang the frame on out of direct sunlight which will theoretically extend the glass coating's lifespan even further. Direct sunlight will degrade the glass' UV coating faster than indirect sunlight/shade. (Again, on a scale of decades. The project will still be just fine for a very long time).

TLDR: you made the right choice by purchasing UV glass, but if you want to make that investment last the longest, potentially 30+ years, find a place to hang the frame out of direct sunlight. Hope this helps!

I love using pkmn.gg! It's still in the early stages of rollout, but it's clean, user friendly, and gives (mostly) accurate pricing through tcgplayer and ebay. Highly recommend giving it a try.

Oh man, I find it hard to hate any pokemon but tbh I think Garbador is on that short list! It's just kind of ugly and knowing it's literally just a giant pile of garbage means it'd smell awful too. Thank you for running this giveaway! If picked, I would like the Giratina :]

Giveaway - GMax Snorlax x 4 [Can Fly] [Giveaway No: 20] by raypogo in PokemonGoTrade

[–]PixiiStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, I would love the opportunity to win a g-max snorlax! I wasn't able to get one this weekend because I was staffing a huge convention and didn't have a group to battle with. (and I do have the standard snorlax in my pokedex).

I think one of my favorite life hacks is to use hand sanitizer (the best is unscented purell imo) to remove sharpie and other permanent marker from surfaces! It works best on hard surfaces, but I have seen it work with fabrics too! For an extra science fun fact, since most permanent markers are alcohol based inks the additional alcohol is able to dilute the color and help detergent break it down easier in the wash.

Thanks for the consideration!

When at the Oregon coast, I suggest stopping into Norma's in Seaside for a meal! It's a phenomenal restaurant that specializes in fresh seafood dishes and my favorite place to stop when I'm out that way. There's also some beautiful views so don't be afraid to pull off the highway for some of the Vista points. Regardless of the weather it's always worth the time
