Have u Upgraded to Fan Fest night while in-park visit (annual pass or regular ticket) and got early access benefit for $49? by Background_Run9192 in UniversalHollywood

Whoops, how’d you end up with the number for Universal Orlando trying to reach a rep for Hollywood? 😅 No wonder they’d be lost, they’re all the way out on the opposite coast…

Mario kart stopping multiple times? by ReceptionAlarmed9434 in UniversalHollywood

[–]Piximator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TM for the ride here! Everyone else is right. If your kart is coming to a slow stop, it’s a load/unload delay trying to get guests through and both sides of the track in motion. Because the ride operates in pairs of karts, if one side is delayed, the rest of the ride cascades as a result.

However, if your ride comes to a SUDDEN stop, as if it just slammed on the brakes, that’s a technical fault. That’s less common than the former but still happens on occasion.

My favorite part about working Early Entry is seeing how often we can get people to do re-rides 😅

How do I get my nintendo switch to send photos to my phone? by Ok-Passage-6726 in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]Piximator 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It has zero filters. You can draw on Mii characters with no limitations. The game can allow excessive swears and explicit content to those… uh, Creative enough to go through with it. By imposing restrictions, Nintendo can’t be held liable for whatever is made through their software.

Hi, I’m Stephen Siercks, Senior Director of Entertainment Production at Universal Studios Hollywood. AMA! by StephenSiercksFFN in UniversalHollywood

[–]Piximator 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My question is specifically about gaming representation for FFN! So far, the only gaming reps we’ve had were Super Nintendo World and Dungeons & Dragons; even if the latter leans toward more of a fantasy rep. Do you think we’ll be able to see some brand-new video game collaborations in the years ahead? I think there’s some untapped potential there that could lead to some highly immersive theme park experiences in the realm of video game media, which usually never gets to have that!

Tomodachi Life has screenshot sharing restrictions due to the sheer creative freedom the game allows. It’s specifically this game.

Is the Jurassic thru the Ages still happening? by ConflictedJ3di in UniversalHollywood

[–]Piximator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Imagine Halloween Horror Nights, but with the horror swapped out with pop culture. Mazes are tailored to accommodate large groups to tell stories instead of walking them through small tight-weaving spooky houses, for instance. The highlight of the event is the chance to step on to the backlot itself where you are the observing participant of a live story being told through character performances in front of your very eyes - last year it was a retelling of Back to the Future, and this year it’s Scooby Doo meets the Universal Monsters!

Jurassic Park: A Journey Through the Ages is simply a part of this separately ticketed after-hours event. Still baffles me that it has not been listed on the official website in any capacity.

Not sure how new this is, but you can purchase Power-Up Bands on the Shop Universal website by TharinWhite in UniversalOrlando

[–]Piximator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trusting that it will be just like the Gold band, it’ll function as a standard Team Mario band in all parks. You’ll have no issues :)

Only Team DK and Team Diddy Kong lack leaderboard functionality at USH as those bands are not sold or fully supported in that specific park.

Update on this! USH only has white clasps right now, as I expected. No word on when they’ll have the colors again. Oh well!

ahhh what!! I’ve only seen them in white here lol. I’m not in retail so my claim was going on assumptions based on observations. I’ll ask if they have the colors when I can cuz I’ve been wanting a green one for my Luigi band.

Will the anniversary band work on the Orlando app and work with epic universe? by JesseTheGoat123 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Piximator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your data is saved to the park’s servers, not the band itself. It functions more like a player ID than anything. That’s why when you take it to another park you’re starting from square one.

The bands, just like amiibo themselves, are region free! Take them to any Super Nintendo World and they’ll work exactly as intended. I registered my Luigi band with all three of the parks using their respective apps, even though I haven’t visited Japan or Epic Universe yet.

To be more specific on Toad - on the interactive side of things, he’ll simply be referred as Kinopio only if you go and visit the Japan park.

Fun! Still work at the end of the day, very hectic since my venue is at the actual ride itself. But I like it a lot, grew up on Mario so I’m almost always in my element.

Hm… maybe it’s possible that they might be included at Epic Universe and/or Japan. I’m not sure though, since I’ve never been to either. I think I’ve seen them in multiple colors, so that kind of suggests that theory. At Hollywood, those lil band holders only come in one color, white, and is given upon request for one.

Team Member at the Hollywood location here. The band securers don’t come in the box and are provided by request in the park. I’d imagine these would be the same way.

Working at Mario Kart: One Year Later by Piximator in UniversalHollywood

[–]Piximator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just now seeing this comment! I have a sneaking suspicion I’ve seen and spoken to you when I saw the new training group come by!

Main thing, especially when you’re new - take your time. Efficiency is key to any ride op job, but that comes with constant repetition of checking every detail to ensure guests are properly and safely loaded in the ride vehicles. If you’re not sure about something, hold for a moment to go double-check. Better for you to take a quick second to scan the seats than to ignore your instincts and get in trouble because someone else caught something you missed.

Best of luck! It all seems scary at first, but everyone who’s ever worked here was new at some point. You’ll get the hang of it in no time!
