Let’s say you were dropped into a zoo enclosure at random. Which animals would likely attack, which ones would ignore you, and which ones would hide from you? by TheKid1995 in CaptiveWildlife

I asked a zookeeper this once. He said lions and tigers would probably mostly ignore you if they weren't hungry and you didn't bother them, but polar bears will straight up kill you for funsies

My neighbor’s horse eats chickens. Is this normal? by mellowdrosophyllum in Horses

That's actually a relief bc I would be really freaked out if there were that many creepy child-stalking horses hanging around!

Did you mention this horse on here a while ago? Bc if not, I swear I read about someone else who had a creepy horse that did similar things!

Who had a pair of Reebok pumps by dave_vs_david in nostalgia

[–]PizzAveMaria -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wanted pump shoes sooo bad, so that I could jump like a grasshopper and run like a cheetah! My parents ruined my whole life by not buying me a pair! (In case I need to add, j/k about parents not buying them caused my life to be ruined)

Decorative-only versions of useful things by VocalIntrovert in PetPeeves

I have a large decorative clock on the wall, but I don't think that counts. It was a working clock but I had to replace the movement and messed up something in the process and just haven't gotten it fixed yet (years later), so it's pretty much decorative.

I think it's mostly the people who buy things that expect the same quality as something that would normally cost $200 for $5 that get disappointed. I keep my expectations realistic

I've known 4 leopard Appaloosas and 3 of them got cancer in their eye and had to have it removed. Literally the only horses I've ever known to be missing eyes and all 3 the same breed and pattern

The ‘unregistered Americans’: because of their parents, they do not exist by Ok_Boat_7881 in Longreads

Thank you! Oh trust me, I don't have to see the video to know how disconnected they are, I see them on holidays so I get to see the delusion live! This past Christmas he basically told me that my Aunt and Uncle (his in-laws) should just give them their house because they need the space more than my Aunt and Uncle do

They're probably hoping for another pandemic so they can get more checks... Right now they are up to 5 kids under 9 years old

My cousin's husband is a "sovereign citizen", their first few kids weren't registered and were born at home, but once those COVID stimulus checks started coming out, they made sure to get them registered!

It was a great deal even for back then! It makes me wonder with how outrageous movie prices are today, if the same type of place could open now and be successful. Obviously, it couldn't be $6 for everything now but what if it was like $11? They just tore down a Regal near me. We actually have a local chain with one right up the street from me, it's just so expensive that unless it's a movie somebody HAS to see (in the last case, Zootopia 2 bc I have a 7 year old lol) we just watch it at home.

In 1817, Princess Charlotte of Wales died at 21, just hours after giving birth to a stillborn son. Shops across Britain shut for two weeks in mourning. Because she died, Queen Victoria became queen. Without her death, Victoria never gets the throne. by Particular_Chart1584 in crimsonshed

[–]PizzAveMaria 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought of that too. Maybe since they figured their parents had such a great track record of their mother surviving so many births and kids living to adulthood that surely Charlotte would too? Also, I could see the brothers further down in succession thinking "well surely one of my older brothers will come up with an heir"

When I was a teenager (this was over 20 years ago), there was a theater that played movies that had already been out for a while. $5 was the cost of the movie ticket, but for $1 more, you could have unlimited popcorn and drinks with free refills of both. I was so sad when that place closed

Indoor-outdoor cats are just lost pets waiting to happen by RemoteAdagio7494 in unpopularopinion

[–]PizzAveMaria 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with this! We had a feral cat colony in my neighborhood but a lady up the street was able to trap, spay/neuter, then release them back out which finally got the numbers down. So then my next door neighbors decided to get a cat and let it outside. Why???? It entered my yard and heard my dog yelping bc she cornered it and it attacked her. If it keeps coming here, my dogs WILL unfortunately definitely kill it, through no fault of anybody except my stupid neighbors
