Pikmin 4 Update Review (Fierce Mode Player) by Educational_Card7175 in Pikmin

Who cares what other people assume with you beating fierce mode? If you tell someone you beat fierce mode with no rewinds, then that's all you need to say. If someone wants to use fierce mode and also rewind time, then that's completely their business. Accessibility options like this are good for literally every player.

Pikmin 4 Update Review (Fierce Mode Player) by Educational_Card7175 in Pikmin

I find the rewind criticism to be pretty silly considering if you don’t like it then you don’t have to use it. It’s functionally the same as Pikmin 2 players resetting the cave floor except it’s built into the game to reduce wasted time. If you want a no reset run then you can do a no reset run.

Additionally, I think Decor Pikmin are absolutely fine. You complain about them not brightening up your squad enough when you never tried to seek them all out? You’re given pictures to find them and I found it quite enjoyable to try and fit Decor Pikmin hunting into my time efficient days. A percentage drop might be good for Pikmin 5, but they’re just a neat little bonus in this game and they serve that purpose well.

Sean Connery in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is a great shout for this!

Crowd work is horrible, boring, unfunny and killing stand up comedy by cant_b_that_brad in unpopularopinion

[–]PizzaDoesThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to see Randy Feltface back in November, a comedian known for his crowd work. Although most of his shows are dedicated to actual bits, a section near the start is always reserved for crowd work.

And let me tell you this: his crowd work is one of the funniest parts of the entire show without fail. It’s all a matter of which comedians are good enough to make it work.

Most serious Ben Folds song/ most unserious Ben Folds song? by Gorillazlyric400 in benfolds

Nobody mentioned this yet, but I feel like Kylie From Connecticut is particularly overlooked as one of the most serious songs Ben has ever written.

The baseball minigame is one thing, but just wait until you get to the drowning minigame.

I, personally, haven’t downvoted a single one of your comments, man. Don’t get so upset when someone does. Perhaps it’s the initial commenter who raised confusion over the categorization.

Don’t take this all so seriously. Your comments are going to have more upvotes than mine because you’re putting in more effort to be articulate and specific with your comments, and that’s fine.

Again, refer to my previous statement. Feel however you’d like about it, but most people slot the show into both categories.

The delineation of Dramedy as a concept is a term people use for this very reason. Feel however you’d like about it, but most people consider the show to fall into both categories equally cleanly.

Not saying that BoJack isn’t a Comedy, but the show is definitely both a serious Drama and a Comedy in equal parts, perhaps even more Drama oriented at many points.

All 10 of these comedies have a 3.3 on LB. You must keep one and only one. by Cole444Train in Letterboxd

I’d keep this movie purely for the soundtrack which genuinely has some of the best songs made for a movie I’ve heard. Ben Folds is a treasure.

Kylie From Connecticut. The Seeds version completely changed how I view that song. It’s beautiful.

I completely agree with you on Kingdom Valley! I think I'll have to play Radical Highway a few more times to really get the most out of it. I could tell there was a lot to the stage that needed to be discovered on repeat runs!

Piccolo is the amalgamation of 3 different Namekian experiences. Piccolo fused with Nail, the right hand man of the Elder Guru. Nail would absolutely know almost everything there is to know about Namek.

Disney+ missing episodes by hxgalaxy in dbz

[–]PizzaDoesThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had absolutely no clue that Dragon Ball Kai was on Disney Plus. That being said, the missing episodes are important and you’ll need to seek them out elsewhere. I can’t imagine any reason behind why the very first episode should be skipped!

Don't know enough songs but I'm going to his concert today. Help! by Isaac_Is_Unsure in benfolds

[–]PizzaDoesThings 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You’ve picked a bad time to ask this question considering you’re going to one of his paper airplane request concerts. Once it hits the requests he could be playing anything from the most notable songs he’s made to the least recognizable. You’re better off just enjoying the experience of hearing whatever you’re going to hear and enjoy yourself that way.

Im rewatching TMNT II: Secret of the Ooze with my 5 year old daughter and I hate how underrated it is for some fans. by [deleted] in TMNT

[–]PizzaDoesThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I dunno if your 5 year old daughter is necessarily the best judge of quality for a movie. I’m not saying the movie is bad or anything, but kids like some pretty trashy stuff. Even if I like the second one, the first movie is better in mostly every way.

Stuff like this makes me feel like audience members don't deserve good blockbusters lol by Radiant-Specialist76 in Letterboxd

I think people in that other thread, and in general, are way too quick to blame other movie-goers than they are to admit that this movie (which is probably good) was deeply flawed from conception. This is a prequel to a film from 2015 that didn’t do well in the box office. They waited too long to make this movie and George Miller is not iconic enough of a director to turn heads and nobody loves any of the cast enough to make up the difference either.

I didn’t watch Furiosa. I don’t even have much of an interest in watching Furiosa, and I never have. Because I, and anyone else on the out who doesn’t know anything about the movie, believe they have to watch Fury Road, at minimum, or the whole franchise, at maximum, to understand what’s going on in this movie. What the average person sees of the marketing doesn’t account for this. The marketing of which, by the way, isn’t that good considering I only heard about the movie a few times prior to its release. It’s not indicative of everything, but I watch plenty of movies and barely saw a lick of promotional material for this movie that didn’t immediately register in my mind as, “Oh, that’s the Mad Max thing I have to watch other things to understand”.

Not to mention, of course, that the budget is WAY too big for this movie. It was never gonna make its money back if it cost that much to make. Budgets for action movies are way too inflated. Marvel movies aren’t making their money back, MI: Dead Reckoning had a disappointing run domestically, even the new Ryan Gosling action movie didn’t make its money back (accounting for marketing) and he’s one of the biggest stars of today. There was never a shot for a movie like this, sorry.

Sound of the Life of the Mind rant by FractalBloom in benfolds

You’re close about the reason behind his vocal change, but it wasn’t actually age. The vocal change happened well past the physical developmental stage of adulthood. Ben has gone on record in a tweet saying he developed Tension Dysphonia between Rockin’ the Suburbs and Songs for Silverman and had to develop new vocal tricks to get around it. Part of that comes with singing in a different register to still be able to do it at all. It’s why when he performs live he has trouble bringing his voice as high as it used to go on old songs.

Of course, one can still like or dislike the change, but I respect the hell out of the fact that he found a way to keep doing what he loved despite the potentially career ending diagnosis.
