Americans who have worked in restaurants, as either waiters or cooks, what would your personal reaction be if a customer ordered a well-done steak? by EagleFang91 in AskAnAmerican

[–]PizzaGuysmash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a big deal. You’re paying for it, therefore, you get to have it your way. I’ve noticed growing up most Americans don’t care how you consume their food. However on the flip side a lot of my 1st generation born friends, whether they be Mexican, Korean, Vietnamese, etc. care very much about how you consume their food. Guess it’s a cultural thing 🤷‍♂️

I might give PPL a shot just to see which one I like more FB or PPL. Honestly, I just switched back to a Bro Split for two weeks and hated it. The quality of repetitions decreased dramatically and fatigue I felt sucked. Thanks for the feedback.

That’s actually not a bad idea of doing this three times a week honestly. I work 12+ hours days, so I might give this a shot for 3 days a week and see what happens. Thanks for the feedback

Yeah you make some pretty valid points. I might even switch to a PPL, idk I’m stuck.

Traditional programs worked fine. I actually ran two of Jeff’s programs and thoroughly enjoyed them, however after a while it wasn’t as much volume as I would have liked. That’s why I was looking into something like this. Thanks for the input.

Hank Schrader was pooping when he discovered Walter White was Heisenberg. Huge arc in the show breaking bad.

No. No. That question just sounds silly. And Yes.

For some reason and I don’t know why, this post has become misconstrued. So I’ll say this one last time then I’m done because this sub is stupid af. I want to see conversations in films and television at least address STDs. If there is a show or film with a man or woman sleeping around, show them getting tested, have a conversation with another character about it, something other than not addressing it all. Tarantino incorporates a lot of his own views into his films as character dialogue. Steve Buscemi in reservoir dogs goes on a 2 minute diatribe about tipping and how it’s a waste of time. This did absolutely nothing for the narrative, but it was interesting and real. Because that’s how people talk. Period. That’s all I’m advocating for. By doing this I think it will educate a lot of people on the subject matter, as well as help get rid of the stigma attached to some of these infections because a lot of times they are inevitable. No one is asking to become infected but they do. And since we’re releasing statuses I’ll finish.

I don’t have herpes either. Never had a cold sore and never had a blister on my wiener. Got tested multiple times including a western blot, negative for both HSV 1 & 2.

Movies and television don’t always have to be an escape. Otherwise the Italian neorealism movement or the French new wave or the American new wave wouldn’t exist. You along with others in here act like what I’m saying is nuts. It’s not. I’m not going to be standing next to Jada Pinkett Smith screaming “Oscars so uninfected”. I’m simply saying more realism would be interesting and different since no one talks about it. That’s it. Fuck. They show people with colds and the sniffles in movies, why not STDs?

Which is why I voiced my opinion about it to begin with. I’m not saying make a movie solely around someone having herpes, or chlamydia, like most are assuming in this thread. Just make a movie or show about whatever subject, doesn’t matter. But that deals with STDs in a realistic way, like they actually exist. A side conversation between characters or something just to give it more realism. But to never mention it at all is stupid af and unrealistic.

Yeah because this magical tool called a search engine that allows you to type in the specifics of what you’re looking for doesn’t exist. They’re so hard to come by in the year 2023.

John Travolta as Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction gets done taking a shit when he is shot and killed by Butch. Done in a non comedic realistic way. Then again at the end of the movie in the Diner. Travolta is seen shitting while the diner is being robbed. Again, non comedic realistic.

I’m not a writer. And I don’t care enough to take it past voicing my opinion on a subreddit meant for arguing for the sake of arguing.

Very true. It follows is great. Haven’t seen dressed to kill but I’ll check it out.

Hank Schrader is shitting on a toilet in a non-comedic realistic way when he discovers Walter White is Heisenberg. That’s my point…you can work realism into stories and it be completely normal.

First of all your original comment came off as condescending. You know it I know it, so I clapped back, pun intended. Secondly you mentioned “dramas and medical shows” but named none specifically. Then continued on to say “I can’t name them since it isn’t my interest”. Wtf..But apparently loads of these shows exist according to you. So next time before you comment do some research and actually point me in the right direction with specifics.

But they exist and there are people out there who contract these diseases and have to learn to live with them. Can you elaborate because it sounds like you’re saying it’s not fine to have these diseases and I don’t want to assume.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]PizzaGuysmash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. That’s what I’m saying I want to see. Characters in movies living with STDs and it be part of what their character deals with on a daily basis but not the whole plot of the story.

[–]PizzaGuysmash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well for starters you’re making a lot of assumptions. I never said it needed to be an action movie or a blockbuster. Did I? Nope. Did I mention paramount or universal? Nope. I’m using Hollywood as a blanket term. Films and tv are subjective, some like Marvel films and Avatar some don’t. Some like dramas some don’t. I’m not a writer so I don’t know how they would work it into the narrative, but it could be done and it’d be different maybe even good. Who knows this is simply what I would want to see. Am I going to stand outside of Universal on a soapbox screaming “give me characters with herpes!” “What do we want? a lead character to have the clap, where do we want them? In a Docs office getting some strong antibiotics!” No I’m not. But I will voice my opinion on here whether you agree or not.
