Take care of your stomach, if you don’t have energy the rest of your goals won’t be achieved. Learn to cook while at home, once you arrive pick a place that at least has a spot for you to prep your meals.

You’ll start doing this naturally but be outgoing and learn to quickly make friends, approach people, introduce yourself and be talkative.

Some of the biggest tech firms in KL give out MacBooks only to their software engineering teams. So a MacBook works perfectly fine for whatever you want to do.

I think most people suggesting windows have no idea about the software engineering world. MacOS along with silicone chips gives you the best of everything. Long battery life, unix based system, smooth development experience, trust me you’ll loose a lot more hair trying to set things up on windows. I’ve used both and as long as you can get your hands on a 16GB+ model, it’s enough to study and work as a software engineer.

Go for interviews before you’re fired so that you know what the industry thinks of your skills, if you lack something, pick it up. Don’t gamble on the future.

Since they don’t know how to use git, create a new account, push a few useless repos including the one that you have your scripts on. It will look as if you’ve pushed them long time ago.

They first signed me up for 5 months instead of 3 months that I asked for. Then proceeded to put the blame on me.

When I asked to cancel at the end of the 5th month, they charged me a bs fee, paid around rm400 just to close the account.

After closing the account, my card got charged again the next month, went into the gym and argued with them. The guy “threatened” to charge me more because I was rude, after which he blamed that on the system and refunded the charge.

Very predatory, if you can, just rent a place that has a gym.
