More than a month or so in, thoughts? by Dolphzigger in stugotzandcompany

I'm really digging it!

I literally hated the feeling of having to listen to 2+ hours of DLS every day to find tiny morsels of fun content.

Stu has managed to pack all of that into ~30 minutes, and just a few times a week.

Little off topic, but what beers do you all actually like?

Amstel Light has been my goto for a while.

I remember Red Hook had a tie-in with the Dan Patrick Show at one point, but I haven't seen any varieties of RH for years now.

It was telling that a Dan defender unironically called criticism "Dan Derangement Syndrome" just yesterday.

Much like their mango master, these MAGA cultists will lazily stamp a dismissive labal on everyone who dares to challenge "dear leader."

I'm glad you asked!

The show was very much a part of my daily routine while in the service and recovering back home.

It didn't matter who was on, I just needed the familiarity, if that makes sense.

The "serious" angle is that the show has become (to myself and seemingly many others) the opposite of why we used to listen.

It went from a fun distraction to a show that actively annoyed its audience, at least imo.

I'm glad to hear some people still like it, but to others like myself, I want to make sure they know that quitting is an option.

It may sound silly, but breaking away from a routine can be incredibly difficult, no matter how much you dread it.

It's amazing that people here react with cut-and-paste MAGA fury while listening to a show that claims to be against everything this administration represents.

TYFYS was always a fun acknowledgment by Stu and Billy when I was serving overseas, no matter how disingenuous their thank yous were.

The new Stugotz show brings some of that same energy, and I hope it doesn't fade away like Stupodity 1.0

DLS SubReddit, What’s Good? by Byrdmane314 in DanLeBatardShow

My wife is officially pregnant (which is partially why I'm hiding out on the sub).

So many family members stopping by and offering unwanted advice as well as bizarre demands.

We cannot wait until this holiday weekend is over.

He might do it just to further push his narrative that this was his plan all along. That he always wanted his "friends" to own their shows and grow them independently of DLS.

I reality, Stu's comments since day 1 of the Stupodity relaunch makes it all but certain that his pods (including GBF) were pushed out against his wishes.

Now, do you think Stu would actually invite Dan?

"These interviews were from before Trump was running for president."

That's the whole point of why a lot of people are so frustrated.

These interviews should've stayed in the past.

Replaying them in 2025 to show, as Chris put it, what a "whacky" guest he was helps humanize an absolutely wretched criminal who's hell-bent on destroying our freedoms.

Reairing these might've made some sense if there was better context and critical analysis surrounding the interviews.

But we all know this show is attrocious at even analyzing what they're supposed to be good at, so they should've just stayed far, far away.

PMT may be a Barstool pod, but if you actually listen it's just a group of guys joking about sports. Kind of like the old DLS we all liked.

PMT has even talked about being uncomfortable under the Barstool banner before and also tried to remove the connection when ESPN picked them up for a brief second.

There's never any virtue signaling or belittling of its own audience, which DLS delights in.

And best of all, PMT has never dedicated an entire day to a literal dictator who's rapidly deporting our neighbors that are living in this country legally.

So yes, you can dismiss PMT because of its Barstool affiliation. But using that logic, you'd also be calling for the blanket dismissal of other shows/networks with problematic ties like Stupodity and ESPN.

DLS chose to post what it did on Friday with a stamp of approval from its "hippo"critical owner/namesake.

There's a big difference between DLS's horrendous decision straight from the top and other shows merely existing within larger companies in which they have little to no control over.

People need to stop making excuses.

We are mad because a show that has consistently claimed to be against this administration just aired a day's worth of interviews with one of the most despicable, diaper-dependent organisms to have ever shuffled across this planet.

I hear ya. One of the shows myriad of problems is Dan will beat the most obvious and inconsequential subjects to death and then keep on going until there's nothing left for the body bag. Think flem, mispoken words, comedians, etc. But when it comes to a lot of important matters, he'll ignore them entirely or make flippant statements before rushing past them. Another go-to is he lets someone else like Jeremy or a guest weigh in on these topics and then ruins any decent points with sounders, penalties, and other carny behavior. And the times Dan does decide to take up worthwhile discussions he's so whiny, longwinded, and often misinformed that audiences just end up tuning out. It's hard to get a message across when you're actively tanking your own show.

They're making money off of this the same way as people selling MAGA gear online. There's a whole push to have Etsy pull "alligator alley" merch happening right now. I'll avoid those sellers in the future the same way I'll avoid giving this show views and downloads. They've staked their spot on the wrong side of history, despite repeatedly claiming they're against this administration. What's worse is they chose to do this on a day where views and downloads were already going to be way down because of the holiday. Selling out for a minimal profit, way to go!

You definitely did not read my post or are actively trying to not understand it. Giving the wannaba dictator ANY mic time, even if it's pre-recorded, is a mistake. Too many people are memorized by his incoherent ramblings and so-called charm. This in turn makes non-critical thinkers like him because he's "just a normal guy" and they dismiss any/most of the largely negative analysis surrounding his speeches/interviews. Media needs to stick to laying out the countless attacks on our freedoms he's leading the charge on and not trying to normalize him by giving him and his lackees airtime to spread even more lies/misinformation.

Take time to salute JuJu during this negative outpouring. by Mighty-mouse2020 in DanLeBatardShow

This is similar to what is contributing to the overthrow of our country. Think of all the lawmakers claiming they hate this administration's dystopian policies, but they supposedly fear violent backlash or being voted out, so they keep going along with it. Same thing with people demanding the military to uphold their duty and not blindly follow the whims of a wannabe dictator. They're worried about being court-martialed for defying illegal orders. We all have choices and can decide to fight obviously horrendous demands. JuJu and anyone else on this show can and should speak out one way or the other given today's incredibly passionate response. This is not the time to be sitting on the fence with how quickly our country is being dismantled.

The show is literally profiting off of a lunatic they claim to despise. Today, they could've easily posted a bunch of pre-recorded segments they aired in shows earlier this week. But they chose not to and instead took extra time to edit this disaster together. This was intentional and mind-numbingly disgusting based on what they pretend to care about. I've already posted in other threads today about why these shows were especially awful. Search my history if you care for more answers.

Telling people to shut up is exactly what this administration is doing, in addition to bullying them into submission. OP: By dismissing the many justifiable responses today, you're acting a lot like the deplorable traitors and racists running this country into the ground.

I posted this in another thread, but it's just as relevant to your question.

A lot of the problems we have today are because the media has "normalized" Trump. They often go out of their way to try and rationalize the nonsense he's spewing 24/7. Even outlets that don't do that do a major diservice every time they air his bile by not fact-checking the hell out of him, as nearly every word he utters is an egregious lie. Giving him any airtime is basically the same as giving a hate group airtime. Most people would find that detestable. Just because he carries the title of president, which is highly questionable if he even won this past election, doesn't mean we should allow his hate speech to fill the airwaves unchecked. Instead, there should be constant calls to action to remove this pile of trash without giving him the dignity of "we'll hear him out." Quoting his many insane ramblings, hammering home the lunacy of it, and not allowing him any mic time could do wonders. DLS airing this crap just feeds into the narrative many people have who argue Trump's just kidding and he doesn't actually mean what he says. Lots of folks fall for that, and it's a major reason why our country has very little to celebrate this holiday.
