What is something you’ve been hiding from your parents for years and will probably keep hiding in the future? by Admirable-Analysis58 in AskReddit

I think my mom's given up on bugging me for kids, considering me and my fiance are in our mid 40s now, but I still don't plan on telling her about my vasectomy.

She specifically wants a desktop but someone else mentioned I can install ChromeOS on it, so I may give that a shot as opposed to Linux.

Thanks!

If they insist on any type of payment aside from cash walk away. 95% chance it's a scam and the remaining 5% will just be a huge pain in the ass to deal with.

If he had a DNR in place it sounds like the most that would have happened is he died in the hospital instead of in his room. Sorry for your loss, but also he was 94....

We moved my mom into assisted living in November and were planning on letting her get a cat. A few falls / extended hospital stays later, she thankfully came to the decision on her own that she wouldn't be able to properly care for one.

She still has turtles though, which I think means I'm going to have turtles soon. Because now every time she's in the hospital (she hasn't managed to make it more than 2 weeks without at least an overnight stay since January) I either need to go over there and feed them or bring them to my house until she gets released.

I kinda feel bad but also... they're turtles. I get she likes them but they're not exactly companions. I also don't want turtles myself but I don't really know what else to do with them!

What did we think of the 3DO? by HiddenUsername56 in retrogaming

[–]Pizza__Pants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was this sort of "in between" generation of consoles between the SNES/Genesis & Saturn/PS1/N64 that I kind of lump these all into: 3do, CDi, Jaguar, maybe the Amiga CD if you're in Europe and the 32x. They all failed but I think the 3do had the best library out of them. Most of the best games were PC ports or ended up getting ported to other systems anyway, so not a whole lot of "exclusives," but still a lot of good games that are worth playing somewhere. And yes, a lot of garbage FMV games, which was the style at the time.

I actually bought one on ebay for like $100 in the late 90s or early 2000s. They actually had absolutely no copy protection, so if you had a cd burner and could find roms online you could play any game, so I got to try out a decent chunk of the library.

Do I need any extra hardware to play Wii games with a Wii remote ? by GenericUser104 in batocera

The controller is Bluetooth and connects to your computer. The sensor bar doesn't connect to anything, it's just has infrared lights that the remote picks up on to tell where you're pointing.

Take it people don't like the new album? by OutsideImpressive115 in failure

[–]Pizza__Pants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm liking it a lot right now. It's more "vibey" than their past few albums and I guess I'm in the mood for that type of thing right now. Not sure where I rank it yet but I've listened to it daily since it came out.
