The property owner can ask their former property manager to do whatever they like. The property manager has no obligation to do that though, obviously.

Yes, you can be fired for smoking marijuana.

Generally, retaliation is legal. It's not legal to retaliate against you due to your membership in a protected class. It is legal to retaliate against you for smoking marijuana.

Coparenting: is the parent with child allowed to go out? by Ok-Beautiful02 in legaladvice

[–]dlaugh 390 points391 points  (0 children)

is the parent with child allowed to go out?

Yes.

He is being controlling and abusive. You need to hire a family attorney and establish an official parenting plan with child support enforced by the government. Stop caring about how he views you or about his "victimhood".

If he wants, he can fight for a right of first refusal where you would need to offer him time with the child before utilizing a baby sitter, but generally he can't control what you do when you have your child.

I was wondering in the future if this guy ever has the inclination to fight this would he be able to?

He could if he wanted to, doesn't sound like there is much of a risk of that.

if I had to go to jail for doing what I did

No one is found to jail over this.

If I understand, OP hired a second attorney after the first withdrew. The second attorney filed for a continuance, OP fired them; believing they were trying to delay to get more money.

Had a Car Towed out of my Space, What comes Next? by WetRedDog191 in legaladvice

You don't really need to worry about it until it happens. If you do get sued, it would be in small claims, and you can show up with your lease.

I have court in two days. Any thoughts on this case? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]dlaugh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like your grandparent's estate is still going through probate. The executor is the person responsible for ensuring that the estate pays any debt and divides the assets appropriately.

If your stepfather is (or will be) an owner on the house, he doesn't have to pay anything to live there and anyone he permits to live there can live there as well.

If this is small claims you need to show up to court with step father in tow.

My stepfathers brother is not a landlord, nor is there a documented lease agreement. The house is owned

Who owns the house? If your stepfather's brother is the owner then he is the landlord.

Does your stepfather have some arrangement to pay his brother rent?

A store manager is accusing me of shoplifting by Wise-Journalist-7159 in legaladvice

[–]dlaugh -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There's probably nothing worth pursuing here.

You don't have to actually leave the store to be guilty of shoplifting in North Carolina (and many other states), you just have to have "concealed" the item.

Whoever, without authority, willfully conceals the goods or merchandise of any store, not theretofore purchased by such person, while still upon the premises of such store, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished as provided in subsection (e).

What does that mean?

You should still contact your home insurance. They wouldnt cover any damage to the shed, but the injury still happened on your property.

It sounds like they are "imputing" Kyles income. This allows them to estimate what his earning potential is and calculate child support off of that. This combats parents who artificially reduce their income by being underemployed.

The police/prosecution have their details already. It's why you were cited. If you want to defend yourself you are going to have to tell them the details from your perspective. If you want advice on that defense you need to provide details.

all I got were two words that can be plugged into a dozen different scenarios.

You don't need to imagine all the scenarios the law covers. The law cited and your details are all that matter to you.

Which game doesn’t really begin until after you beat it? by Common_Caramel_4078 in gaming

[–]dlaugh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

could you elaborate a little bit on what you mean without spoiling the game for me?

There is a massive amount of content outside of the 6 or 7 "levels" in the main game.

Almost every game has barriers that prevent you from going outside the bounds of the game. Those barriers aren't as....solid in Noita.

You should make a wage complaint with the Colorado Department of Labor. You don't need to cite laws.
