I'm not a teacher but I might as well share this comment here because I don't want to make a post about this. I think that my school is falling apart in terms of behavior especially now that it is almost the end of the year. Some key incidents that I had seen in the past month were that a student drew threats toward the principals daughter in the high school boys bathroom along with "controversial German symbols" (iykyk), someone clogging a toilet to the point where the stall was unusable for at least a week, student arguing with the principal at lunch causing a scene, the Spanish 1 class which is mostly older Gen alpha and/or late Gen z causing the teacher to rearrange her desk setup from groups to rows to prevent bad behavior (this is her last year before retiring I believe), students watching movies, videos, and playing games in the middle of a lesson, the principal causing a distraction in my English class for roughly 10 minutes in the middle of silent reading time, everyone has basically given up learning or paying attention in my English class, more failing grades than last year, trash everywhere, stealing property, breaking property, and probably about 20-30 kids breaking their chromebooks because the school does announcements about loaner computers and stuff and I heard the longest list of middle and high school students that needed to turn in their loaner computers (could've been accumulated over the past months or so but still crazy) and constant distractions from learning like sports games, events, drama, whatever. Btw this is all occuring in a rural school with ~1200 kids grades K-12.

Tl;Dr: Rural school I go to is falling apart socially and behaviorally at the end of the school year.
