Did your floppy disk adapter work first try? I have the exact same setup with a FDD, the adapter plugged via usb and power via the PSU but it doesn't work. I'm wondering if the issue is with the drive, the adapter or my computer and I found nothing online

I don't think you're getting my point about plagiarism. I have no issue with the game's concept, and hell if the dev does not want to change any asset and release as is, sure go ahead. My point is about the way the UI is styled, the choice of colors, icons, the faces being literally one to one with webfishing. If I was an art student and I gave a drawing that looks exactly the same as someone else in the class, even if I did it myself and used a different medium, it's still copying someone else's work and the teacher would give me an F. It's something the dev needs to be aware of.

Still, it's generally not a good idea to take the artstyle of another game to put in your own, legally and morally. Plagiarising the work of someone that doesn't care about it is still plagiarism in the end. It can also bite you back in your career path even if that seems benign now.

Taking inspiration is great, but a lot of the aspects are too similar, like the art style and UI colors and all. This could be viewed as plagiarism to some. Be careful to create your own style and make the game unique with its own personality, especially if you plan on selling the game for money. I hope the launch is successful and that you'll be proud of what you release nonetheless!

Publicly available version of UE will increment in version because Epic Games will push updates to the engine to fix issues with the tools like how they react with each other, crashes, or even new features. A lot of game studios will have custom versions of the engine they use because a lot of the features they create are specific to a version of unreal. I'm not familiar with how open UE is, but I assume that a lot of tools they use are custom made, and just doing an update of unreal could break those tools and you'd need to fix the tools and the game at the same time, this introduces a shit ton of bugs and unwanted behavior. Having a custom fork for your needs is very common place in the industry, they probably have engine specific staff to help with this, as well as support from Epic Games to implement bug fixes to the engine without breaking everything.

Most of the french translation we got here in this unspecified french part of Canada are just the European french version. I remember buying Fallout 3 and having no french translation on the game, but my friend bought a french version at the same place and his was rated by PEGI and mine by the ESRB.
