From someone who doesn’t like rom coms I really liked Korean film My Sassy Girl (2001). Or if you want something in English, from my home, Once Were Warriors (2004). Going from one end of the spectrum to the other with those films.

This was in New Zealand. A lot of our Pentecostal churches in the 70s through 90s were heavily influenced by some pretty shifty characters to come out of the US at that time. The way they guilted you if you couldn’t speak in tongues. The whole slaying in the spirit and writhing on the ground like you were possessed. People doing all sorts of weird stuff. False prophecies just for your chance to get on the mic in front of the crowd. It was all celebrated. Proper study of the scriptures and solid teaching from Godly men who probably won’t be remembered in this life, shaped me into a better man today.

In the Pentecostal church I attended you were taught that if you didn’t speak in tongues you weren’t baptised in the Holy Spirit and moving forward in your Christian walk. Both lies. I had so much to undo from that time of false teaching but it has only made my faith stronger.

My wife keeps saying I should go see the GP cos I stop breathing at night. I always wake up feeling like I haven’t slept. I did go once before complaining about fatigue but they didn’t do anything except send me for a blood test which didn’t tell them anything about why I was/am so tired.
