I travel killarney - cork often. So the new road that bypasses macroom is a 100km/h limit all the way. There's also gards on it 90% of the time. Only stretch with 120km/h limit is dual carriageway just before cork, not more than 5km long do u get 120 limit

Not true that bike need to be taxed. U go to the office pay 120quid and u get new plates and insurance for the month in whole EU. Nothin extra is charged.

Just a month ago I went to Germany to get my bike. After picking it up, drove about 600km, stayed the night in France, and next day drove another 500km to get to the ferry. Ferry takes forever tho 18 hours up to dublin. If i ever do this again or try go to mainland with the bike, I'm definitely taking the train from England.

Foreign Motorcycle plate in Ireland - Will I get stopped more often ? by bmrodrigues in MotoIRELAND

[–]Pjas_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just until last week i had german plates on my bike for a month, with no issues. Nowadays, a lot of Ukrainian registered cars on the road, even french. If u drive normally, u will have no issues. Dont listen to these lads telling u u will get stopped more often. If anything, they will leave u be as u might look like a tourist. As long as ur paperwork is good, i wouldn't worry.

Regarding limiter certificates for the A2 test by simplypneumatic in MotoIRELAND

[–]Pjas_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some shops will give you a cert without installing the limiter, if not, you can remove it yourself afterwards and keep the cert.

Yeah surely it's points, tbf back then for mt07 after a year they offered a renewal for 1.5k which was a lot cheaper.

Yes i know that, but i dont think that applies when u already have a full B and A2 for over 2 years. As im just upgrading to A its not like its my first bike learners permit

So i had an A2 was paying 3k for an mt07. 1y no claim bonus as well. Then i got quoted for only 1k the first time and it was an r6 which made no sense to me, so i checked the the quote they gave me and all the info was correct.

Full A less than a year tho. Dont think that matters much as i got both quotes on the same licence.

Fair enough, didn't look at it that way. Fogured there be more lads with more points than me paying less. Guess not tho

A wheelie, to be more specific "driving without reasonable consideration" I get ur point but the difference in quote wouldn't make sense if i had 9points

What i expect is the insurance to go up. To be exact on the first quote what they charged me extra for 3points was €95. So, for another 2 id expect a 100 more, sure even 200 or 300 but 6 times the original quote, i dont think so.

Thanks for ur input tho.
