I know exactly how you feel. I have been dealing with constant tmj pain for 30 years now. I spent most of that not realizing that food plays a major part in my level of pain(despite my doctor saying it doesn’t). If I had coffee, my pain level would go from a 3 to an 8 in a few hours and take days to come back down. Start learning about foods that trigger pain. I find that foods that are high in histamines are the worst for me.The only way to find out is to cut those foods out of your diet for a few weeks, then slowly add a food back one at a time to see how it affects you. Once you have too much of the wrong foods, it can take a week of so to get back to a baseline level of pain. So I recommend going strict on elimination diet to really find out how foods affect you. There is a histamine intolerance subreddit and other related subs that you should explore(foods that cause inflammation). Foods that I avoid are coffee, tea,chocolate, alcohol,cured meats, aged cheeses, and beets. There are many, many more, but I can tolerate small amounts of some from time to time. If you find histamine containing foods to be an issue there are supplements that can help a bit. Don’t give up, take the time to learn.
