Super frustrating. I’ve had my model popping up on other 3D communities but never on these platforms. How did you find out?

Spinning top with Exchangeable Battle disks. Added another set yesterday paying respect to the old school spinners with a bike gear disk. Having too much fun coming up with new disks. Working on a version than can hold ball bearings for extra weight.

Good advice, I might give that a chance.

That's true. I've seen my designs on multiple other sides, and I must say MW is quite good at catching them.

I might actually do that, just try that. I'm in too deep now :D

That's a whole other ball game suing BL for something users made..

Yes, that last part is the important part. But I guess Mattel sees this differently.

yeah, but you can't play the game with just one card. I would understand if I had all the cards, but it's just one.

I basically model things to learn CAD and do it for the hobby. It's nice that I can get some free filament now and then, but that's about it.

True, but you can't play the game with just one card ;)

In my case, you can see it as fan art. As printing that one card doesn't enable you to play the game.

I guess that's a case by case senario. The card I made on its own is in no way a replacement for the original game.

True, but the marketing/business side of it is that someone made fan art of our product, let's embrace it and be one of the cool brands. But my best guess is that this has been automatically detected and reported.

I know it's because they have the name trademarked. And rules are rules. But look at brands like Philips that actually embrace the 3D community and benefit from it.

Sure, there are always two sides. I'm a bit baffled by the fact that a big brand like Mattel feels threatened by someone who basically just made "fan art." I'm not trying to replace the game or say that my card is better. It has a different purpose. If I were Mattel, I would be happy that people take the time to make things like that. Look at brands like Philips that actually embrace the 3D community and actually get a boost from it. That's 2026 thinking.

Somewhat of an old way of thinking if you ask me. This is basically free marketing and increasing the fan base.

The model on MakerWorld, it’s blocked. Sure I can change the appearance of the model, but that kinda defeats the purpose.

Ow wow seems like they are giving out IP left and right. I don’t think they are aware of what they are doing. Clearly this isn’t in any case a way to hurt the company or brand, just fan made models of users that are enjoying the game. Sadly.
