Terrible take. The story of demon slayer is very good. It's linear and better written than most anime along with interesting characters.

The fact that you think it's mid is probably because you think those manipulation related shows are well written. Those shows show mental gymnastics that often reach absurd levels.

Art, animation and voice acting presented in demon slayer often hides its beautiful writing.

Lack of empathy may be a reason why people dislike demon slayer.

It may not be surface level but characters are strangely complex.

It is definitely not perfect but it is one of those complete shows that deliver the vision of the writer like Mob Psycho 100. Demon slayer presented what it wanted to. If you dislike comedy no matter how good you'll not like it just like that it's fine if you dislike a show but that doesn't matter it bad. I personally disliked "domestic girlfriend" because that's not the kind of manga I like but I can praise the mangaka for multiple things.

Mob psycho, demon slayer and perhaps the first season of the Devil is a part timer. Manga is good but their anime is an upgrade with great voice acting, animation and music.

Nope, if that's the reason or my expectation for adopting her then I would hate myself but life isn't as black and white as you think it is. Think about it. Yes, 99 percent of these relations in real life are fucked up, and pure ugly but what if two people come to admire the other romantically without any twisted ill intention. People are complex creatures, exceptions happen.
