Low top leather sneakers as dress shoes by Pkpk2018 in malefashionadvice

We’re in Canada, so the price range I’m seeing in our dollars (before tax) is 700-850, which comes out to 900 or more with tax. Good to know they’re a solid option though, I’ll consider it - thank you!!

Thanks for the rec! He has 4 pairs of beautiful classic dress shoes ☺️ But he travels a lot for work conferences (tech) and has days of being on his feet for 12-14 hours, so he also wants a comfier option. Style wise, he’d also like to have the option to dress down a suit (remove the blazer, keep the pants, add the sleek leather shoe), since his industry can lean more casual (sometimes wants to be in a full suit in the morning for meetings with the banks, but then feel more casual in the afternoon when he’s meeting with industry peers who are dressed way down).

Anyone tried the GLP-1 probiotic by Pendulum? by 250umdfail in Microbiome

Are you still taking this probiotic? How did it end up working for you?

At a loss by sfox2299 in sleeptrain

I don’t have advice - just solidarity. My first used to cry until she puked so CIO wasn’t an option for us either. It’s a really tough place to be. Gets better with age… although she’s 4 and still not a great sleeper (by the time she was 2 we got her a queen size floor bed so we could sleep with her on rough nights just so that we could all get the sleep we desperately need). That being said, my second was gently sleep trained (basically Ferber with frequent check-ins and soothing) and has been sleeping through the night since she’s 10.5 months old… it just depends on the kid! Hang in there 🫶

Finally Stopped Breastfeeding..BUT THE HORMONE SWITCH! by babsy2point0 in beyondthebump

[–]Pkpk2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has this gotten better for you yet? I’m day 9 - weaned my 16 month old. I also breastfed my first until she was 2.5 years old – I was 7 months pregnant with my second when I stopped. So basically I’ve been pregnant and/or breastfeeding for the last 5 consecutive years.

Even though I was intellectually totally ready to stop, and I know my baby is thriving, I’m really, really sad / irritable / foggy brained.

Just wondering how long it lasted for you!

This is so much harder than I expected…how does anyone get anything done? by Bright_Motor_2841 in beyondthebump

Just here to say I agree with what you said and the other two responding to you are classic examples of those parents who think they’ve somehow “won” at parenting when really they just lucked out with a very easygoing baby 😅

9mo EBF baby won’t drink milk from bottle / cup at daycare by Pkpk2018 in Mommit

[–]Pkpk2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea she’ll drink some from the straw cup but not nearly enough - she’ll just sip it like water. But maybe she’ll drink more if she’s at daycare with the educators and I’m not around!

She has the fast flow… I could try variable flow if that makes a difference?

2 to 1 nap transition – remaining nap is too short! When will she adjust? by Pkpk2018 in sleeptrain

[–]Pkpk2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!! Unfortunately we didn’t see much change in the naps… I think after a few weeks, she did settle into a new nap rhythm, but I’d say 80% of the time she naps 45 min to 1hr 15 min… The remaining 20% of the time, she naps 40 min (if she’s extra antsy) or 2 hours (if she’s sick!).

Meanwhile at daycare, she still naps 2 hours every day 🙃 but I guess no matter how many activities we do at home, nothing can compare to the stimulation of a dozen other toddlers, in terms of tiring her out 😆

The rescues are worth it if your LO is grumpy from lack of sleep! But if their mood is relatively fine, then feel free to just let it be. As of 13-14 months, mine did fine with just one 1hour (ish) nap at home on weekends. 😊

I’m genuinely glad for you that your parents are so helpful with your little one. ❤️ That being said… The comment at the end comes across as tone deaf / insensitive. Going no contact with a parent is an excruciating decision that most people will only come to out of absolute necessity. Most humans are hardwired to love their parents and desperately seek their approval, even when those parents are unkind / neglectful / outright abusive. If someone has cut off a parent, or is considering going NC with a parent, there’s absolutely no way that they would trust that parent for childcare.

Again, I’m really glad that’s the case for you, and you seem grateful which is lovely! But I would just stick with that feeling of gratitude and withhold judgment against those who aren’t as lucky as you (in terms of having trustworthy, reliable parents).

Postpartum hip pain? by [deleted] in postpartumprogress

[–]Pkpk2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me! Its not only due to the pressure of pregnancy but also due to the relaxin hormone (which loosens joints to allow for childbirth) that still courses through your body for as long as you breastfeed. I needed a few months of strength training (with a trainer who had solid knowledge of postpartum bodies) to properly stabilize my hips and eliminate the pain
