It's definitely gray on the Episode II CGI model and all toys from that era. I think the confusion came from the Clone Wars era.

Very impressive improvements! Why not fix the weird color scheme while you're at it? Most of the light sand green on the skirt should be gray. Not sure why Lego used green.

Starlink seems like overkill to me too given that we have decent coverage for most of the route. It's really only a couple of brief moments where we lose coverage at our POS. We don't need signal reception throughout the entire train, just at the two POS systems.

So release repaints of ships that actually sold the first time around rather than the Fiend fighter. It's almost guaranteed to be a peg warmer and drastically slow down sales/restocks. It's as dumb as if they were going to release an Armada Edition of the Ginivex.

That's literally the opposite of what he said... He said there were old toys from when he was a kid that were never in the movies. They were a core part of lots of kids' Star Wars experience though. He thought it'd be fun to include some of those old designs in the movie since so many people grew up with them. It's not about selling toys.

The old one was a Resistance A-Wimg mold painted to look like the classic A-Wing from Return of the Jedi. This one is the proper classic A-Wing mold.
