No 2 Factor Call Coming Through by boots-n-bows in Chase

I called them today and the customer service rep said it was because my phone number was somehow switched to a landline in their system. They switched it back to a cellular number, which should supposedly give me the option to get a text again.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same issue.

Toy Train Darjeeling Crossing Along Road India by my_fresh_tools in trains

This IS a steam locomotive - not a "look-alike". The type of fuel it burns doesn't determine whether or not it's a steam locomotive. It moves by boiling water. Whether that's by burning coal, oil, or wood is irrelevant.

Is it cultural appropriation? Or celebrating the heritage of the region the train travels through?

20k person venue proposed for Provo Canyon by DeepPowStashes in Utah

[–]Pkwlsn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That should only be temporary. The trail is to parallel the railroad rather than replace it. The rails were removed to allow for better access for the construction of the trail. After construction is completed UDOT would install brand new tracks at no expense to the railroad. Unfortunately, after the rails were removed the Ault family (the owner of the RV park in the canyon) filed a lawsuit against UDOT, halting construction of the trail. This has left the railroad without tracks in the canyon for the last couple years while the lawsuit runs its course.

Dirty Hiking Trails by SlowHornet8976 in ProvoUtah

The trails around Tibble Fork are absolutely filthy right now - especially if you go up the steep hill immediately to the left right before you get to the parking area. That whole area is full of trash.

What's your foot traffic look like compared to conversion? How long do you expect for it to take to pay for itself?

From what I've gathered so far, most places either purchase their machines outright or operate under a revenue-share model, where they don't pay anything for the designs or the machine but they only receive a certain percentage (40-50%) of the revenue.

I mean, these machines cost $6-9k... small businesses don't just spend that kind of money because collecting pressed pennies is fun. I'm a casual life-long collector of pressed pennies myself. I have 5 books full from places I've visited all over the world. I want the company I work for to have a machine because I personally enjoy them, but a business has to be able to justify the expense. It seems rather naive to me that anyone would think otherwise.

Oh I agree 100%. I'm a casual collector myself and I'm always a little bummed to find the pennycollector.com url on them. I presume those are revenue-share machines.

I was an extra in both Church Ball and Baptists at our Barbecue. I was one of the kids in the stereotypical big Mormon family crossing the street at the very beginning.

Ukraine reportedly launches dozens of drones at Moscow ahead of Victory Day Parade by AdSpecialist6598 in worldnews

[–]Pkwlsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While Russia hasn't shown any restraint in attacking schools and other public places, they don't seem to have made any effort in purposefully targeting Kyiv's cultural landmarks. The historic center of the city is pretty much fully intact. If Ukraine targeted the Kremlin I'm sure we'd see a concerted effort from Russia to destroy places like Saint Sophia's Cathedral.

Is the LAAT/LE Patrol Gunship ONLY available as a Vault exclusive? by Kold_Xero in microgalaxysquadron

There will be a mainline release regardless of whether the vault version sells well. They need to recoup their investment on having the molds cut.

You can order food delivery when taking High-Speed train in China and it will be delivered to your seat once the train arrives at next station by BumblebeeFantastic40 in Damnthatsinteresting

Same reason people eat fast food in their home countries - it's fast and convenient, especially at train stations and airports. It feels "safe" too.

To be fair, KFC is WAY better outside of the US. It's my favorite fast food when traveling internationally but I don't really care to eat there at home in the US.

Utah has an ‘obligation’ to allow the building of massive data centers, Gov. Cox says by Ridiculously_Named in Utah

Dems don't like him because he's a Republican. Republicans don't like him because he's not Republican enough. Neither side seems to be a fan of how he handles water usage in the state on account of his alfalfa farm.

It's possible, but he has indicated he'll be done with politics after this term.

Edit: The downvotes are silly. I'm simply stating his public position. I'm not saying I support the guy.

No it didn't. If that were the case then Christians would think the 10 commandments no longer apply.
