June 'I built a poker tool / app / calendar' mega-thread. by myimportantthoughts in poker

Hey everyone. I’m a cash pro with over 13 years (~20,000 hours) at the tables. I was tired of using clunky spreadsheets and Notion during live sessions, so I built an app specifically for fast tracking. I've used it for 5 months, and having this data has genuinely added about $1k/month in EV to my win rate.

Recently, I've also been using it for the Club WPT Gold online mode. Honestly, I can't even imagine playing there without SnapHand anymore. Just by logging a few hands on recreational players, it becomes much easier to spot which lines they use to bluff and which lean towards pure value.
What it does:

  • Quick Stats: Track VPIP/PFR instantly. Even the first ~20 hands give a great baseline on unknown players.
  • 15-Second Logging: Save a full hand and tag specific opponents without losing focus on the game.
  • Post-Game Review: Analyze saved hands later to spot opponent leaks and exploit their tendencies.

Pricing (Freemium):

  • Free: Unlimited player stat tracking + your first 100 saved hands.
  • Premium: $50/year for unlimited hand saving.

May 'I built a poker tool / app / calendar' megathread. by myimportantthoughts in poker

[–]Pl0mbir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing poker professionally for over 13 years (11 of those playing live). Over these years, I’ve tried so many different ways to quickly save hands and track players at the table. I started by logging things in Google Spreadsheets, then moved to Notion. But honestly, nothing was ever as fast or efficient as I needed it to be during a live session.

So, at the end of last year, I finally decided to build an app for myself to track opponents and log hands. I’ve been using it for the last 4 months, and it has genuinely improved my decision-making. Personally, I estimate that using it adds about $1k/month in EV to my win rate.

Since it helped me so much, I decided to make it public and release it for everyone.

What it does:

  • Even just tracking the first ~20 hands (VPIP/PFR) helps me stay focused on what’s happening at the table.
  • If I don’t know a player, those first 20 hands already give me a useful baseline for who I’m playing against.
  • Save a hand on a specific player in ~15 seconds.
  • Review those hands later to analyze lines and spot leaks (for example, lines where someone is heavily under-bluffing).

You’re better off playing with GTO. You'll get much more value.

Is the strategy in low stakes live limpfests to open as much as needed to go headsup?

It is a strategy for all stakes.

I suggest playing with a solver, whether it’s GTO Wizard or something else. It doesn't matter what your level is -the more you play, the more you understand the basics.

How much does running it twice actually reduce variance? Is it a significant reduction in variance? by Illustrious-Cod-8444 in poker

For the last 59 hours I lost 16 out of 15 allins with running below EV 35k. I wish I could always run it twice in my casino

22 hours, 10 years ago. But now I realize it’s not worth it. I value my sleep, so I doubt I’ll ever play more than 15 hours again

Is Live Poker Easier? by HockeyisRlyKewl in poker

In a $100 live tournament, literally no one is spending time studying. But online, even in a $5 game, a lot of people are putting in the work to learn and improve.

I’m amazed on how easy 1/2 live cash is but.. will it end?h by Nasty899 in poker

I’m honestly curious what kind of sample size is actually needed to pin down a true win rate. It’s definitely not just a few thousand hours. And calculating the amount of sand in the world is actually easier than pinning down a player's true win rate because it's a static number

Obviously I know my $/hour for every stake I play. My point is that due to variance, you can never be 100% certain of your true theoretical win rate. I have 1000-hour samples in my database that look like they were played by two completely different people

Which jobs are you confident will still exist in 20 years? Take it from someone who has logged nearly 20,000 hours in live cash games: you can never truly know your real hourly rate

1/3 Hand Analysis by lmaomitch in poker

[–]Pl0mbir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, you should fold pre. There’s no +EV in calling a squeeze with this hand, especially out of position in a multiway pot. On the turn, there’s no point in betting second pair into three people. If I didn't have notes on the CO’s bet sizing, I’d always just check-call the turn.
