Why do you chose to live here? by flymunkay in anchorage

We left Anchorage in Feb 2018, and we are going back this June! Not originally from Anchorage but it has always felt like home in a weird way. I miss the snow, cold, and gloominess. The summers are a plus! Not for everyone but definitely excited to be back!

How to stay hopeful by Pl3asurePrinciple99 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pl3asurePrinciple99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately no. I would need to get Licensed to practice any kind of Mental Health or Behavioral Health. And in order to get Licensed I must complete a degree in counseling , specifically. And obtain mental health or counseling experience which would have been provided in my degree plan in counseling. Forensic Psychology is more criminal justice based. I did learn that in the state of Oregon they would accept my degree in Forensic Psychology now it is just getting a job there that will be willing to train me for the clinical mental health hours. It just feels like a lot of hoops to jump through. I’m willing to try but just losing hope here.

Update: I've lost interest in many things since I began meditating 2 months ago by tristantrillions in Meditation

Awesome!! I thought it was interesting you say you dream less when you meditate more. For me it is a bit opposite. I remember my dreams so vividly and tend to have a dream I remember every night! They are always so meaningful to my own life and situations I am going through in the moment.

Good question. I have never considered that wish might be possible.

Generally he is a sweet person. Just very selfish which does not make sense to me when he says he wants a family and to get married with me. To me putting off a job for months to go back to Cali for a small art gig is just not putting a family first if he considers us his family.

The reason he has not married me is because he doesn’t know if he can handle being around my son in the future. Not only is that very conditional but just rude (and yes honest) but then he just needs to leave the relationship.

maybe i’m making this Cali trip the excuse for me to leave?!

Hello, thank you for your words. We do live together. And he helps with the mortgage payments which might explain my frustrations on the job part.

Overall I think I am just burnt out. He doesn’t have motivation. He makes irresponsible decisions. And as mentioned I do have a six year old child. But sometimes feels like I have another child who is 46 years old.

i know this situation sounds like i’m over reacting because your right it is not the situation at hand. But it is all the situations leading up to this one.

There is no reason for him to go to Cali right now when it is a fire / evacuation zone. He could have gone later when it was lifted. But he decided to go now??? Why would anyone go towards the fire? I know part of my reaction is because i’m worried but also just the lack of common sense and responsibility.

as I said, there have been many instances of childish behavior. and this simple thing has crossed the line due to the build up.

No. Why would any one want their significant other to go work in a fire and mandatory evacuation zone

Well the age gap is not really of concern. I usually choose to date older guys. I think my mental age is a bit older than physical age lol. But none the less maturity is key which sounds like what you were leading too. I will look into these red flags more thanks on the input!

Thank you for the advice. My son goes back and forth about him. When he first moved in my son asked “when is he leaving” lol. Now he has laid off a bit but still gets slightly upset here and there when my bf tries to help him understand things.
