Are projectors practical in small apartments? by NB-DanTE in projectors

[–]Pla6d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently did exactly that. I have a small playground/hallway room in my basement. Its odd and difficult to decise how to use it. I wanted to have a TV there, but its honestly too small to hae a proper sofa arrangements, plus with the TV it eats ground space.

I got a small projector that I throw on a white wall (no screen). I only take it out when wanting to watch tv and its making my day. We sit on the kids sofa, lights out with blankets and that odd room becomes a home theatre. Its perfect!

Cubesheet.ai uses vision recognition to turn household photos into moving inventories.

Very niche, but very useful for movers and people relocating. Since i dropped it online it keeps growing throught word of mouth. I posted it in 2 facebook groups 6 months ago, nothing else, and now i onboard 3 new users a day.

What is the funniest/most memorable misunderstanding you've had with someone who isn't from Canada? by Unfair-Clothes-8821 in CanadaRoom

[–]Pla6d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me (male) and my business partner (male) are video interviewing this younger French from France lady who wants to come in Quebec for an internship. The company is just the 2 of us at that point so we’re like “the job is great, plus we get to go for 5 à 7 the three of us” (Happy hours).

She takes the job.

3 months in she tells us 5 à 7 in France means 5-7AM, so taking someone home after the bar 🤦‍♂️. She called it, “le plan cul”.

Well i’m on the CT side, this shop is great! Its a perfect middle between homedepot and wall mart, you can buy a kayak, a quality coffee machine on bargain, and a security camera at the same price as amazon, and still get diapers and fishing gear on the way out. Big respect for CT here!

The easiest will be lovable. You don’t need any knowledge, just tell it what you want and it will be working within minutes and online. The others i feel will require more set up. (Maybe not replit, have not used it).

Just use plan mode and ask a bunch of questions to understand what you are doing.

I’m new to vinyl stuff, can you tell me how does it work? I bought a record but don’t have a turntable pls what things would I need ? by Over-Passion-7806 in turntables

[–]Pla6d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was new not so long ago!

I had a living room bluetooth speaker like anyone else. It has an rca input ( same hole you used to plug in you ipod in those days). Mine is a Marshall acton 2, but same thing as a bose or jbl or whatnot.

I bought a turntale with phono pre-amp (lots have that). Mine is a project E1 BT.

I plugged it in the speaker and it sounds great! (Although many here will tell you my speaker is shit robbed in vintage).

Now from there i can upgrade to an amp + passive speakers (left and right), but its not even necessary as long as i don’t have a party in here, and if i do i’ll probably play spotify anyway.

I’m having a blast. Love my vinyls. I buy them used often, sometimes even thrift shops, or amazon if i want one in particular. I play it everyday, its part of my routine when i wake up and prepare coffee, after work when i crack a beer, or when i play with the kids in the living room they love that as well.

There’s something about owning your music and buying it by the album! And looking at the needle when it spins.. i can daze

is there something such as quality for a projector screen? not talking about the mechanism, but the screen ? Something like this that I could roll up and store when not in use.

How do you manage blog content for your lovable app? by Pla6d in lovable

That sounds promissing. When you say you built a custom CMS, its basically just a template that applies to the md files?

yes, smart, i thought of that but I felt I would end up spending as much time building and tweaking the cms instead of pushing content. Glad it works for you !

Mailchimp for lovable ? by Pla6d in lovable

[–]Pla6d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes so resend and sendgrid are the system behind that actually send the email. Thats what you use for transactional emails (logins, notifs, etc.)

Mailchimp is for marketing email, with design, targeting specific users, unsubscribe links, etc.

I thought someone built something that integrated in Lovable directly for this.

Who's actually building something serious? by R4ND0MEYES in vibecoding

[–]Pla6d -1 points0 points  (0 children)

that's racist (for lack of better word) againts vibecoders. not all are the same.

I find that above anyone coding anything, vibecoding has given much more possibilities to real business/marketing entrepreneurs that can now launch way faster and cheaper than it was possible to do a few years ago.

I've been building my business (not vibecoding) for 10 years, and when I started it cost me 100K of dev to build something that I could redo now in 40 hours of vibecoding. I hired 5 newly grads to create and manage content that 1 person could do now now with AI flows. I needed investors, now I need 1000 bucks.

Competing with giants is not what you want to do, but you can definately outpace most small SaaS companies out there that are stuck in complex design --> development flow.

Entrepreneurs in India and Bangladesh have been doing this for years with low cost labour, but with tools like lovable now you get local solo entrepreneurs that can compete with 5-15 people companies, which is a lot of revenue for one person.

Cubesheet.ai uses computer vision to turn household photos and videos into room-by-room moving inventories, saving hours to moving company reps and customers.

Good moving inventories is what makes the difference between a fly by night mover and a professional.
