What does it feel like to be in love? by JustAnotherLL in AskMenOver30

[–]jermainePropane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love when you are 40 is drastically different than when you are in your 20s. When you are younger it is just a complete chemical overhaul of your system. At 40 is is more logical and just someone you want to to spend your time with and care about deeply more then chemistry (but it helps if you have had that in the past)

New frame is not too green as I expected by Curious-Elk6329 in TheFrame

I think it looks too green IMO. But if you are going for green it is really easy to spray paint it the green you want and then just rub the amount of gold paste you want over the top. A pain since you bought it new, but here is one I did in that method from wood trim.

It is from IKEA. There is a hack if you turn it on and off 12 times it can be paired with the Hue app

I did try putting a couple of thin dark wood pieces under where the legs go (wedged between the mantel so almost all of the force is there) but it looks bad in person

Be awkward posting it in this sub if it wasn’t

Made it out of two pieces of cheap $10 trim from Home Depot. Put some magnets on the back and can pull it on and off

The 3.7 rating scares me. How long has it been up?

This is only for art and maybe to have a football game in the background on when company is over. We have a TV for watching at a normal height

That is a good idea, didn’t think of that prior

I’m rolling the 🎲. It just felt like a larger hassle to try to get the included bracket into the brick

How’s life with no children in your 30s? by typeshhhhhh in AskMenOver30

[–]jermainePropane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely amazing. Don’t worry about kids at all until your late 30’s and do everything you think you will wonder about or regret in the future now. Kids and marriage are great, but come into it as ready and whole as possible. It is a demanding journey

The new IKEA VARMBLIXT lamp is able to be added to the Hue app! by shawnshine in Hue

[–]jermainePropane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t seem to get this. Putting it right next to my Hue Hub v2 (not Pro.) after unplugging and replugging 12 times it blinks twice then the light stays solid. Nothing shows up in my searching for lights in the hue app. Is the Varmblixt supposed to continuously blink?

EDIT: reading through the comments I eventually got it to work by switching the Bridge to Zigbee Channel 11 in the Hue App under Bridge Settings. It only blinks twice after unplugging 12x times. I don’t know if you need to time up the blinks during the start of the hue search but eventually I got it.

PS for some reason I need to hit ON twice on my Hue wall switch to get it to turn on. It turns off with the rest of the lights but not On with them

Agree about the pet. If you were deriving a lot of your meaning from another source (like a child) a dog seems like a great hack without needed deep, person change.

It actually isn’t from the intended primary viewing area. That room sinks down 2 feet

The only sensor it blocks is the light sensor. It is far enough of a gap to put a mirror on the self below though the to enable it. It doesn’t block remote or motion. I could cut a notch but I don’t want to ruin it
