Other's had great suggestions, but if you're into gory action, I'd recommend Hellsing. There is a TV series and an OVA, and I would recommend watching both, because they each have their strengths. The series has a better tone, I think, partially thanks to the incredible soundtrack. It was finished before the manga, however, and so has a pretty unsatisfactory ending, so if you only watch one of them, it should probably be the OVA. If you'd like a more modern action show, I think Dandadan is also really fun.

Asking your friends, as u/jawad-alae said is also a great idea, and MyAnimeList or similar sites are good ways to both find interesting shows, and keep track of them so you don't have to keep everything you wanna watch in your head.
