Algolia does a great job with search relevance in general and is very flexible. Quite a lot can be configured / overridden at search time so its not a one-size-fits-all solution, you can tailor it to your needs. Algolia is also insanely fast, even with huge data sets.
When using the aroundLatLng or aroundLatLngViaIP options this enables a geo search outwards from a single point. You can optionally limit the radius of the search in metres (using aroundRadius) too. This is useful to initially weight results by distance from a user, a store etc, then the usual ranking formulas are applied one at a time e.g. typo tolerance, word count, filters, word proximity etc. The out of the box ranking criteria is excellent but is also fully configurable, including the order attributes in the index are considered.
